Didn't you say if Calzaghe couldn't hurt RJJ he wouldn't be able to hurt Froch even with a sledgehammer? Jones looked quite hurt to me, his face didn't look too pretty anyway. Im sure he could hurt Froch badly too over 12 rds. Not knock him out cold, no, but i'm sure Froch would be sore for a while!

 

he didnt make much sense anyway as everyone knows calzaghe has brittle hands. So whats the debate about 1 punch ko power about anyway?? earlier in hes career he seemed to have some good power on him, now, the issue isnt about whether calzaghe would even hurt froch. He might, but to put a 'dent' into froch as the TS says, he would simply have to do what he typically does ----and froch would be hit with so many shots it could end up like an absolutely huge dent on froch.

 

Yeah he used to have respectable power, which added to his output raised his t/ko percentage quite high. Never really had single shot knockout power. Agreed on the dent in Froch stuff!

 

Calzaghe ripped the **** out of Jones. Jones had never been gashed like that in his career his own cut man didn't even know what to do. Roy Jones Jr today can whup 99.9% of all twenty something year olds on the planet. Cracks me up to see "fans" try to portray Jones as an 80 year old man because he lost badly to someone 2 years younger than him to a fighter that no American likes.

Plus i went round to a few other forums all predictin Jones by KO and wide UDs and ****.

I said Taylor would beat froch by either 8th round TKO or UD but Taylor gassed and froch won. I was wrong and should have seen that coming after the pavlik fight and sure i still think Froch is the worst world champion out there but he pulled off the win and all credit to him.

Oh yeah did anyone else hear bull**** story about the fight being fixed between Calzaghe and Jones?

 

Joe was nowhere nearly as shot as Roy was.Joe even admitted that Roy was shot in his autobiography.And I don't know why anyone gives Lacey any kind of credit as being some kind of great opposition.He is a never was who has never beaten anyone of note.Your thread actually sounds more like you're describing Roy.

 

I describe Roy as a shot old man due to his absolutely 2 BRUTAL knockout losses he suffered to Tarver and Johnson years before he fought Calzaghe,which is why Calzaghe claims in his autobiography that Roy was shot and an unworthy opponent.In fact,those 2 beat Roy far worse than Calzaghe did.And,as some have suggested,if Calzaghe carried Jones out of respect(what bull****),they why did he spend a good portion of the fight showboating when he knew that Roy had no reflexes to respond?You people are illogical and unbelievable.

 

Well,Tarver and Johnson destroyed him,so your 99.9% has to be substantially lowered unless you're counting the entire population of a small country.

 

Roy never traveled because he was robbed in the Olympics in "88 and always said he would never travel.He has never denied this.Your boy Michalczewski only left Germany once to fight in neighboring Poland and actually ducked Calzaghe.And Roy easily beat both Toney and Hopkins.You have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

All the Calzaghe haters prove that Calzaghe was for real. So very many boxer wish they could have half his talent. Haters can cut Calzaghe down all they want but they can't change what he did in boxing, his speed, pure talent, stamina, etc.
