If Joe Frazier won Thrilla would it have been a bigger win for him than FOTC?

Thanks Swag, I’ll have a read of that next chance. I hear you on Tyson but even of the elite group you provided, there are a few too many (IMO) who give Mike advantage over one, several and even ALL of that group - based on resounding victories over much lesser opposition - of course the losses against the better opposition are dismissed with numerous excuses attached.

PS - the link wouldn’t present the actual excerpt to me - but I can see part thereof the quote in the field box - funny that fighters can express themselves differently from one time to another - Ken definitely only isolated fight 2 as going either way in CHAMPIONS FOREVER.

You’re safe here, the thread title doesn’t mention Tyson so they wouldn’t even look at it.

Also if Norton rightfully got the third win him and Ali’s rankings would change too.

I think the actual thread premise is fine - it's not impossible to see this one switched as Ali had to be feeling it too.

I've never understood the threads like what if Ali beat Holmes where would he stand? What if Cooney beat Holmes? I mean all these fights we actually did have where the loser didn't come within buckleys of looking like winning.

To be fair Frazier beating Foreman isn't worse that the 9 legged Tyson or whatever it was but obviously both are just as likely as each other.

    Sorry mate!

Who was ever said that Joe got the decision because of politics? Never heard that one before.

No, Frazier won the most important single heavyweight fight of the 20th century - there’s no way that Thrilla would have been a bigger win.

I'm not sure on that one. Ali had already beaten Norton once, Frazier twice, Foreman, Liston. I'd stll give him the #1 spot over Louis. His winning the title for the third time against Spinks wasn't as Monumental as the the wins listed above in my opinion. He was already the Greatest when Frazier quit.

Because that's far far worse than someone favoring Ali in TFOTC.

Wasn't the 1959 one hit wonder Sleep Walk by Santo and Johnny a theme for the two George Foreman vs Joe Frazier fights or the Floyd Patterson vs Ingo title bout in 1959?. Lol.

The greatest but with the Ken Norton asterisk see more people putting Louis at #1 or even Marciano ahead of him.
