If Joe Frazier won Thrilla would it have been a bigger win for him than FOTC?

Despite getting destroyed Joe always seemed to have a good relationship with Big George even the young heel version.

Muhammad Ali said it for about 3 years after.

Norton is being classy there. He and Ali were actually good friends. No nasty stuff, alot of respect. What could Ali say anyway?
I thought Norton went 3-0. The only one close enough to not be a robbery was fight 2. Ali fought much better than fight one but he still lost imo. That was a good fight.

But you said: "They parrot Ali and his incessant complaining, pulling out the race card to say that Joe only got the decision because of politics." Who are they?

I think with Louis there would be a strong case.

As far as Norton being a classy guy, I totally agree. I think he was also very honest too without letting his class override that. He did dispute as to exactly when Ali’s jaw was broken.

Ali claimed early (on appearances, it seemed that way), Ken claimed late - and while I might not agree I do believe Ken genuinely believed it was late.

I always respected Ken’s prediction on Foreman v Ali which was “Ali by decision easily”. Very much against majority opinion.

Not to excuse his own loss to GF but rather to explain Ali’s own chances - Ken said he saw plenty of openings v Foreman but was too tight and nervous to take full advantage of same - Ken more or less said Ali wouldn’t be afflicted by nerves like Ken was and would therefore beat Foreman.

The lack of credit you want to give Ali is astounding. Was Norton also being classy when he claimed the first fight could’ve gone either way and in the same conversation was adamant he won a fight he lost?

Your right. It's all so unfair to Ali. He can't catch a break. I go by what happens in the ring not a popularity contest. Did you have Ali pitching a shutout against Holmes? You were surprised as hell when they stopped it. Ali would have been champ up until his death with you judging for him.

Fight number 2 was definitely my favourite one of the trilogy. I score it 6-5-1 Muhammad.

Many of Ali's fans. Ali Spent about 3 years going on every talk show saying he won the 1st. bout ....."I didn't lose white people say I lost" Ofcourse Joe going to the hospital another talking point to claim the wrong man won. I'm not making this stuff up.

Not on the level of Tyson or Mayweather, but Ali fanatics do get insufferable when it comes to Frazier or his questionable fights.

I remember reading Ken's analysis on that fight too. Boxing Illustrated? Nearly 50 years ago now - how time flies,eh?

The only thing you're making up is Norton being classy. Why would a classy guy insist he won a fight he officially lost?

You're a lunatic. My scoring skills are being criticized by one of two posters out of 25 total who voted for Bonavena against Ali. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...th.684298/poll/results?poll_response_id=41292

The fact that you scored the 2nd and 3rd fight for Norton makes me confident, my scorecards going to Ali in both those fights were correct.

    You're a clown.
