How and who would be champ, would they dominate and if not how many times would it change hands then do the same with Ali,Marciano,Tyson,Lewis if they were never born If Marciano was never born then whyte people would have to find some other bum to praise because of his skin color, If Mike Tyson was never born then guys who beat their wives would have to find some other ****** to praise.
a typical racist remark and the heart of a lot of Marciano haters, you think skin color is the only thing Marciano had going for him....you young man are a JACK OFF....You can call Tyson a lot of things but I dont think he had to **** to get woman...I dont like him but I do beleive he was framed...Mike had plently of $$$ and cars and woman...how old are you 16
Suzie, very strong points, not too many poster know these facts...talk about the school of hard knocks...Jimmy Braddock was a cinderella man and they made a movie about him but JJ Walcott needs a movie..."perseverence of Abe Lincoln. " is a good way to put it
I think that Walcotts story would be a good subject for a film. Of course it wont happen until there is at least one superior biography of him out there.
If we started a thread on the history of teapots some posters would find a way to turn it into an attack on Marciano.
Let's give it a try. The English have always been fond of tea.. Traditionally, most Englishman are white. Marciano is white.... Hey, we have a Marciano thread!!!!!!!!!!
There have been some great Marciano hater quotes. "Rocky Marciano was part of the white race which enslaved millions of black people" Revolver.
LOL he said that...you are putting me on ...Marciano's parents and grandparents and Great grandparents were still in Italy way after the civil war and had nothing to do with slavery...Chris Columbus may have discovered the country but not too many Italians stayed...I dont think they liked the food...well lets see Turkey, ...as opposed to Veal milanese.....stuffing as opposed to felleta de pomadora and penne....well I really cant blame them
Lets do another one by talking about industrial steam boilers My father has sold boilers all his life, and new a man in the business who had his own company name vituli. Frank Vituli was Italian and lived in a rough neighborhood on the south side of chicago.. back in the 50's and 60's there were a lot of boxing gyms down there and quite a few Italian and Irish fighters. A lot of them looked up to Marciano...Oops there I go again....
The loss of Ali as well as Louis is also quite interesting and shows that his loss would have had minimal effect. Sonny Liston would have held the title a lot longer, until he was knocked out by Leotis Martin. Who would retire on the spot and leave Joe Frazier to be crowned the New world champion. Foreman would eventually ko him, and go on a big win streak, until Jimmy Young stopped him in an upset. Jimmy would lose to Ken Norton who then loses to Holmes and we resume transmission as normal. In these circumstances, Liston's legacy could only grow. Foreman is another who would also improve massively, without the Ali loss. Most of the others would really stay the about same as they are ranked now. This leaves the removal of Mike Tyson from the picture. Mike cleaned and unified the division in 86, starting with Trevor Berbick. Without Mike, Trevor lasts until he loses a decision to Carl Williams, this would raise his stock a fair bit. Williams loses to Witherspoon in 91, who then loses to Everett Martin, in what many would consider one of the big upsets. Meanwhile, over in the IBF, Tony Tucker has been putting together a long win streak and it would appear as if he is to be considered the main world champion, due to longevity, much the same way that Vitali is today. To add further credibility, Tucker would unify against Everett Martin and from here he would really be the main champion. It would not be until he reaches his 14 th defence that he is actually defeated by Lennox Lewis. This would leave the WBA title which was originally held by James Bonecrusher smith. Bonecrusher would lose his title to Adilson Rodrigues. Rodrigues would immediately lose to Evander Holyfield. One would have to wonder though, whether Holyfield would get much credit being a cruiserweight and all. Still, the WBA title would remain on its real path and would not be unified until much later when Lennox Lewis defeats Shannon Briggs. The Lineal title incidentally, would have stopped with spinks who retired undefeated at 31-0. His stock would have raised massively. I think that Holyfield has a lot to lose under the above scenario, even though he wins the title a little earlier, and therefore has more title defences. I think the loss of the tyson win and the failure to have a unified title would cause his credibilities to be questioned quite a lot. Bowe also suffers from this, with His Holyfield wins being seen as not that great and the Golota debacle also hurting his legacy with many questioning whether he was ever good enough to be considered the best fighter in the world. MOst of the others stay pretty much the same, although i think that Tony Tucker does have a lot to gain and many would put his name forward as an all time great modern super heavy. Some would even say that he had the size strenght and intimidation to beat Joe Louis. Prime for prime Louis and Holmes arguments would also exist.
