if joey giardello had fought srr ........

    when they were both prime what would the outcome had been? we all know they were both wizzards.who had the edge and who would have won?and how?

    SRR.a little bit better in just about very department , but it would be very competitive.Ray would have to be on his game to beat Joey.

    I agree with McVey. Even at his best Giardello could be awfully inconsistent. Robinson was pretty darn consistent and everything Giardello brough to the table Robinson was at least slightly better if not far and away better. If Giardello comes into the ring in tip top shape and ready to give the performance of a lifetime he is going to give Robby some problems and make it very competetive.

    Giardello was termed by Mike Casey as the "Forever Man"..old school to the hilt...he did most of his training in real fights..in the ring. He had an aversion to training and at times wasn't too disciplined, and I bet that if he and SSR had fought a three bout series that Joey would have won at least one, and by decision, and he would have lost by decision...he was that cagey and tough, and would have been even with the great SSR.
