The P4P list is almost purely subjective anyways...but will "The Ring" give the former P4P king top ten status by beating Slappy? I think they'd have to for beating the number#2 rated guy. Thoughts?

Of course he does, he beat the #2 or #3 on most lists so he definitely makes it there. Cotto was like top 5 before fighting Margarito and look where Margarito is after beating him. He doesn't take Calzaghe's spot of course but he makes it in the top 10.

The way they seem to generically leapfrog people just for beating P4P listees - yeah, they probably will. Funny, "styles make fights" doesn't seem to apply to P4P rankings, or rankings in general. As I said all you have to do is beat a guy on the list to jump dramatically. Even on the fluke or what have you.

    Not necessarily.

Did Tarver and Glen Johnson make the top 10 after they beat Roy? (keeping in mind that Roy was rated #1 immediately before those fights)

And if Roy does get rated now, where does that put Tarver and Johnson?

The ring ranked Tarver #10 after loosing to Roy in the first fight. I would think Roy makes top ten for beating number 2

Tarver was in the top 10 by ring after loosing to Roy.
Roy was #1 before the fight where Tarver knocked him out, Tarver went up to #3 behind Hopkins and Mayweather. And you did see Johnson in the rankings shortly after I think.

well no. the general consensus on this forum is that joe is a fraud and hypejob and not much of a fighter these days so a win over him shouldn't count for anything.

you really can't have it both ways.
