    Where would he be ranked as an ATG?

    Would Floyd be considered a better fighter?

    Now answer the questions based on the fact that he has idiotically prolonged his career and lost to men that he would have beaten the **** out of in his prime?

    The reason I ask is that Robinson absorbed bad beatings at the end of his career and is generally considered as the best fighter EVER. Duran lost to too many journeymen and mediocre fighters to mention but is considered a top ten ATG. Chavez was the same.

    Will Jones be more appreciated ten to fifteen years from now when the memories of his recent form fade and his glory days are remembered? He beat Hopkins, dominated Toney, looked unbeatable at 168, unified at 175 and won a portion of the Heavyweight Title after turning pro at 154lbs.

    Could Robinson have done more than that as a modern day fighter? Do you really buy into Jones ducking anyone and if you do, what ones would you have picked to beat him?

    Tarver caught him at the right time (age wise and physiologically) and so did Johnson. At the height of his career the man was a God and he deserves to be remembered as such.

    When the dust settles Jones will be ranked fairly high. One of the more striking evidences of this is beating an incredibly shot Jones is giving people considerable namepower. Danny Green's name has never been bigger. Glen Johnson went from a guy who had gone 7-8 in the previous 15 fights to a guy who's a household name in the sport even today.

    I think what is most shocking about it is how quickly his fall happened. Leonard and Robinson would do things like take a few years off and the fall was inevitable. Jones seemed unbeatable and then when Tarver rocked him with the vicious left the boxing world shook unexpectedly.

    what did having a sparring session with the worst paper champion in probably 25 years prove? Like he did in all his other fights he handpicked the easiest guy in the Division to fight that had a belt.

    Roy Jones is a Glass Jawed fraud and his whole career was smoke and mirrors.

    ive been watching boxing for 30 years and for pure talent I havent seen anyone in that time who could touch jones junior. I always struggled to understand why he didnt stay at heavy and go at Lennox for a huge pay day , or build a career at cruiser. As soon as he came back down to light heavy he looked thin and slow, the body at 33 in a sport as hard as this just cannot take it. Jones for me will always be an all time great , and easily the Best 168lb fighter of all time , the man who fought Toney was untouchable.

    I think what happened, was that he simply burned out... Gaining a significant amount of weight to fight Ruiz, then dropping it almost immediately to face Tarver, took noticeable toll on his body... He seriously looked drained even in the first Tarver fight...

    He was as talented as they come, but the fact is his only win over another great in their prime was James Toney. He should have rematched with Hopkins or defended his title at heavyweight. I remember there were rumors of a Roy Jones Jr vs Mike Tyson fight for the fall of 2003. Too bad because that would have been one hell of a match up considering Mike was in pretty decent shape after his fight with Eitenne.

    2003 Tyson comming in at around 226lbs vs RRJ around 200lbs, would have been interesting.

    True. Beating a 44-0 and #1 p4p James Toney and a young, hungry Hopkins is fraudulent. Also, cleaning out the entire lhw division while barely losing a round must be considered cherry picking as well! Didn't he manage to defeat Tarver after having to lose 25 lbs of muscle? You are a complete waste of space dude!

    Yeh, I'm certainly not denying that. It's just shocking that within a very short span he went from being on top of the world after beating Ruiz to losing 3 in a row. It's just rare that you see something fall apart that quickly. He should have retired after the first Tarver fight.

    :lol::lol::lol::rofl:rofl:patsch:patsch

    So now Roy cleaned out the Light Heavyweight Division? Wow. He did not even fight the legit and lineal champion. And he never lost 25 pounds of muscle that has been shown to be false 100 times on here it is yet just another excuse.

    Cleaning out the division means that he defeated almost all of the top ten according to Ring Magazine. Griffin (who was 27-0), Telesco, Johnson, Woods (went on to win a title), Gonzales (went on to defeat Michaelshewski and win a title) and Richard Hall. Not to mention Tarver. Who else should he have fought?
