Joshua's power seemed to disappear when he was hurt from the first knockdown. I still think he's gonna blitz Ruiz if he comes in light. But I don't think is reign at the top will last much longer. He relies too much on his knock out power. But it's been exposed a bit. Couldn't see Ruiz taking that many punches from Deontay.
Fury is number 1. He beat Klitschko away when he was seen as near unbeatable, he then came back from a huge layoff having abused his body and being mentally ill and went to America and outperformed Wilder in his own country.
He is a going to find that this comeback will be difficult enough, especially when he gets clipped again!!
It's was a brilliant win for Fury but Klitschko was far from convincing with Jennings before and how look average he turned out to be
Fury can’t be classed as 1 until he beats a top competitor. He can’t be placed at the top because of a win 4/5 years ago. Wins over Seferi, Schwarz, Wallin and Pianetta can’t put you back to the top.
Am not disputing that the point I made was that Klit wasn't looking like some unstoppable beast in the fight before Fury
He was still beating decent challengers. Its just there was the odd sign he was slowing down. Fury beat him got a bit of credit .AJ beat Wlad and got more credit for going life and death with him with more miles and age on the clock. The winner or Ruiz AJ is No1 in the division and then the rest need to (mills lane voice) get it on
Fury got more credit from those within the sport as his win was more meaningful. It's hard to compare the fights in terms of entertainment though. It's actually quite hard to call Wlad Fury a fight, it was a non fight.
At the minute I see Wilder as number 1 in the division. I’d say the winner of Ruiz vs Joshua then leapfrogs him as they’ll have the better wins. Ruiz - Joshua twice, Joshua - add Ruiz to all his others. BUT... Should Wilder and Fury meet early next year (I have my doubts) I’d then place the winner of that as number 1.
This. Klitschko was very poor in his previous fight against Bryant Jennings. He was so unable to pull the trigger on his right hand, that in the post fight interview he was actually asked if it was injured. It was the same story next time out against Fury, who at 6’9 was long enough to very occasionally tag him back
