No he doesn't. So you're telling me whenever a champ loses to an opponent he now has to beat him twice after that to make it 2-1, regardless of how dominant he is in the rematch?

Tell that to the likes of Lennox Lewis. He's 1-1 with Rahman.

AJ settled the score by dominating Ruiz in the rematch. Joshua proves himself with further victories over other opponents, not by rematching the same fighters twice to put him 2-1 up.

Wilder would beat joshua. For all his strengths joshua isnt tyson fury. He wont be able to stay out the way of wilders big shots. I,ve seen enough of joshua to know joshuas chins a big problem. Almost chucked himself on the floor against ruiz...the first knockdown.

I've always fancied Wilder to take AJ out but i also think Joshua beats Fury.

Agree. If AJ had taken the Wilder fight or even Joyce/Hrgovic the detractors would be saying he's ducking the only real challenge bar Fury which is Usyk, well he's taken the fight with due warning, no unfair advantages so this is is it - a prime, undefeated modern P4P master boxer who has barely lost a round as a pro and who has beaten everyone put in front of him.
I'm no AJ fan nor a hater but this is his first true test since since Wlad at least in terms of his standing in the ATG HW rankings. Povetkin, Ruiz and possibly Whyte were decent fights but this is a genuine litmus test.

Just hope AJ gets the credit he deserves if he wins and it's a big if.

Thats funny that...because i think the same. Or at the very least...joshua gives fury a much harder fight than wilder does anyway.

I still dont see joshua beating usyk as a big achievement. I m a big fan of usyks as well...but hes not a heavyweight. Doesnt have the size or the punch for it.

Great fighter usyk but hes up against it.

I still dont think people realise how hard the jump from cruiserweight is. Otherwise they,d all move up. The heavyweights the money division.

    So you're a Bodybuilder fanboy I see.

Yes that's how it works when they've been completely and utterly humiliated in the first match.

It doesn't get any more dominant than knocking your opponent down several times and forcing him to no mas.

Andy Ruiz lacks discipline, it's a well known fact he was partying instead of training leading up to that rematch he didn't care he secured the bag for the second time, and he wanted it in America again but Hearn staged it in no mans land Saudi with a large ring for Juicy Joshua to pot shot and move around the immobile fat lad. Good strategy to snatch the belt back, but hardly dominating in the same fashion of the first match.

Floyd had a closely contested first match versus Castillo, but was dominant in the rematch which was enough to put the argument to bed in most peoples minds so 1-1 is fine in that instance.

Lennox Lewis KO'd Rahman in the rematch so that loss was well and truly avenged, so what's your point?

If I get knocked out in a street fight, then fight the same guy again except this time land a few cheap slaps and get on my bike - I wouldn't be so deluded to think that I got the better of my opponent over the two fights.

You fanboys have no clue smh.

Joshua utterly dominated Ruiz in the rematch. Ruiz wasn't in it at all. At least the first fight was competitive at times with AJ knocking Ruiz down.

My point is that Joshua has done enough to avenge the defeat, and he's beaten better than Ruiz, so the need for a 3rd fight is non existent.

Joshua will get more credit from myself if he wins, than from most.

At the same time, if he loses, I hope all of the people parroting that Usyk is a cruiserweight, is not good at heavyweight, proved his low level versus Chisora and all of that crap, will give him credit and also admit that it shows that Joshua is nowhere near as good as they have bigged him up to be.

I hope AJ gets the credit he deserves as well for a win over Usyk but before Saturday expect a growing number on here to start getting their excuses in early to discredit the win if/when it happens..

In terms of Joshua’s legacy the trilogy is needed. Maybe not right now as people are only interested in the Fury fight, and Ruiz didn’t impress in has last outing.

If, and it’s a big if, AJ gets past Usyk, and Ruiz beats the likes of Whyte or even Chisora then the interest to see that rubber match will increase while AJ and Fury is still marinating for at least another year.

He would be my no1 in the division if he beats usyk..but no way could you say he cleaned out the division with fury and the undisputed crown still up for grabs.

agreed mate but I’d add Joyce. Previously Dubois had been heavily touted and Joyce pummelled Dubois. Joyce deserves to be mentioned in these conversations now because he’s beaten every challenge thrown at him and also because he’s just a quality guy. No bull**** from him and he’d fight anyone any day. Doesn’t strike me as the type to haggle over purse splits.
