Or will people just say "Oh look Joshua fighting post war 36 year old Usyk? Another man Joshua beat past his prime". etc etc.

Meanwhile people will be jacking off over Fury KOing Windmill Whyte.

P.S. I like Joshua, Usyk, Fury and Wilder for different reasons. Povetkin was my favourite before he retired, so this isn't fanboyism.

If he wins his list of wins will be -

    Usyk
    Wlad
    Povetkin
    Ruiz
    Whyte
    Parker

Sorry but that is a solid resume.

There's no doubt that Joshua has a very solid resume. As does Whyte and Parker. He'll definitely get credit from me. Would i give him as much credit had Usyk not traveled to Ukraine and away from training? It's difficult to do that, knowing that the lack of training will definitely affect Usyk. Still though, very good win regardless.

    Yes

It would be a fantastic win esp with how the last fight played out

Looking back with the context we have now, povetkin, Whyte, Ruiz and Parker are not impressive wins to me

If the fight is taking place in June he will have 2+ months to train. Some people only get a matter of weeks.

You could literally say the same thing to any of the resumes around in HW boxing at the moment really.

How good of a win wilder is is up for debate, considering his best win is ortiz.

How good you think Wlad was at 39/41 is also debatable.

You could argue that the best win out of anyone at HW was Usyk's win over AJ because of how dominant he was over the unified champ, but people could criticise that and say AJ is over rated.

At the end of the day, one thing is for certain - AJ and Fury's resume's are more impressive than Wlad and Vitali's

Sometimes you got to look at the nature of the victories and how well the fighters fought and see their obvious talent, rather than just going on resume.

Your right, every heavyweight right now has a weak resume. The only thing you can do to offset weak competition is by dominating top contender after top contender for a long period of time like Wlad did. Joshua hasn't done that either

Yeah but how do you determine this competition as weak?

It's the best set of heavyweights we've had since the 90's. Removing the Klit brothers, 2003-2015 was absolutely garbage.

Fury vs Wlad and Joshua vs Whyte brung the division back to life.

AJ will not get the credit he deserves while he is still boxing. He will only get credit after he is done. Too many fans get into their feelings about him while giving guys like Wilder and Fury too much credit for beating the bums that they have beaten. Lennox Lewis was like this. People were so focused on what they didn’t like about him that they didn’t appreciate what he was doing at the time

If Usyk survived a bullet to the head and came back, he’d still be a better win than Whyte.

Seriously though, a healthy Usyk would easily be Joshua’s best win. Though I’d still put it behind Fury’s win over Wlad as far as ranking single wins goes.

If only more fans could mimic your evenhanded approach to the division. An example to us all.

A month ago I'd have given Joshua a 20 or 30% chance of winning. Now I'll give him a 30 or 40% chance.

It is what it is. If Usyk beats Joshua again, 3 months after fighting in a war against a global super power that would be the stuff of legend.

No, because Joshua won't be able to knock him out...

I get that. What I'm thinking though is that Usyk is more of a stay in shape type of guy who trains at a moderate to medium level year round and then steps it up during training camps.

Joshua's resume is similar to Dillian Whyte's.

Beating a dethroned 41 year old Vlad is still his best win BY FAR. His resume isn't half as good as his dedicated and decidedly "inferior" fanbase desperately wants people to believe.

You don't get to ignore the giant red marks (quitting against Ruiz and getting completely outboxed) when sizing up a resume.
