If Joshua KO's Usyk will he finally get some credit from everyone?

The more I see this thread title. The more it annoys me.

AJ was the heir apparent. AJ was the poster of British boxing for years. AJ received nothing but credit, he could do no wrong.

Every flaw was brushed over and every strength was amplified. He was being spoken about as the best HW ever.

Some people were even trying to claim his win over Wlad was better and more meaningful than Furys.

AJ receives an appropriate amount of credit. He's one of the best 5 HW fighters today. One of the top 5 of his era. Anything more and it's credit that just isn't deserved.

I wasn't talking about credit from all sources, mainly credit from those who have never given him any regardless, who constantly nitpick at his resume.

HW sucks but the amount of consensus top 10 fighters Joshua has beaten is impressive and, on this forum, sold way short in my opinion.

It's funny that people complaining about nitpicking Joshua's resume will do the same to Wilder's, Wladimir's, et al. With zero self-awareness, either.

You can find fault in any fighter's resume, the point is to be at least somewhat impartial about it. Joshua was overhyped for many years on this forum, which isn't his fault and in fact he has been an excellent champion. I do think opinion has swung too far against him, but by and large he has been treated very favorably here.

What you say mighty be true. But the opposite has been pushed heavily as well. If he beats Usyk, and the naysayers STILL come back with some garbage excuse...THIS is who this thread is for.

Suggesting Wlad in his prime wouldn't have dominated if Fury and Joshus were in that era is suggesting Fury and Joshua would beat prime Wladimir. Do you actually think that ? Btw Samuel Peter was more of a threat that Wilder, as was Byrd. Wilder hits harder but Peter was far more agressive and skilled while Byrd was a slick savy southpaw.

This era is definitely more exciting and has more talent but this era isn't that good and Wlad completely dominated his own era, something Neither guy has even come close to doing in this era

Why do anonymous posters on a boxing forum giving AJ "credit" or not bother you so much? It doesn't matter !

No credit, post war Usyk is not the same. If Usyk wins though, this amplifies his resume even more. A war torn Usyk destroys UK's finest.

That's a massive assumption. Just because he's been to war doesn't mean he's going to be a less formidable fighter.

If he really wasn't in a fit state to fight, he wouldn't do it. If he's coming out of Ukraine he musn't be providing a massive amount of value as a soldier, so they can afford to lose him.

For all we know he may not have even seen a Russian.

To assume Usyk's time at war has made him a lesser fighter is just an assumption.

At the end of the day Joshua can only beat what is in front of him. That's what I keep saying.

He can only beat the best in his era. If he beats Usyk, he'll have the best resume around in his generation by a mile.

He wont get to fight Wilder because Wilder is a panzy who will never fight out of the US.

I don't know, because I consider Fury at his best to be far better than anyone Wlad has fought. I do believe that 100% Fury beats prime Wlad 7/10. His style is all wrong for Wlad. He's just too awkward for Wlads predictable style.

Joshua would probably lose to prime wlad 7/10, but it wouldn't be a foregone conclusion.

I disagree but Fury does have a decent change against prime Wlad for said reasons.

Joshua loses not 7 but at least 8 out of 10 times. Probably 9, as prime Wlad was simply a level above, maybe two, and he could control the fight on the inside with his clinching more often than not and control the fight at range with his far superior jab and footwork. If Joshua does decide to press the issue he gets a couple knockdowns at best. He'd gas and get KO'd in the mid-late rounds

Not only anonymous but people who have no credibility in boxing. Why be upset with someone who has no boxing knowledge.

Also people don't have to like Anthony Joshua lol
