If Joshua wins in April does he stay a stadium fighter?

Obviously the fights would have to be at a certain level but its hard to see him going back down to a O2 defence afterwards. Can see him going to the US for his next fight to build his profile there before a megafight with Deontay Wilder at Wembley again

AJ gets even bigger if he beats Wlad, and there is a good chance that he does, given this is a 41 year old who has been inactive for 18 months.

I cannot see him ever facing Wilder. I think Wilder eventually loses but that it will be against one of the bums he is expected to beat, when he gets a bit older and more complacent. Wilder never steps up.

I think AJ-Parker makes a lot of sense after Wlad. Parker is the only other respected strap holder out there prepared to face the best.

He can continue to sell out and make huge money just by facing guys in the top 10 to top 20 level. Clearly a domestic match would bring more interest- so perhaps Hughie Fury down the line after he serves his drugs ban and gets a bit braver.

It depends on who it's again as you said.

If it's against a Fury, Wilder, Parker etc then a stadium for sure.

If he's forced into some mandatory vs some hypejob who's appeared in the rankings thanks to Don King then the o2 will do.

For the big fights I'm sure they will be in stadiums. For mandatories I'll imagine he will keep fighting at the O2 because of it's location and relatively profitable nature for a venue of that size.

The UK does have an issue with indoor venues- to my knowledge there isn't one over 20k which makes the need for stadium fights for Joshua more likely.

Millennium Stadium in Wales is 80k and has a retractable roof so can be one of the bigger indoor arenas in the world!

Cant stand stadium fights, complete rip off and you cant see anything. Just paying for the privilege to say "hey, I was there when...". The O2 is the perfect size for a big fight with an excellent sound system and transport links.

    1. His going to go the US.

    2. We don't have the weather for stadium fights all year round.

    3. The whole thing point of a stadium fight is to signify the importance of such a fight or event. If it was done all the time suddenly it doesn't look so big.

Wembley should be used v rarely for boxing.

I don't think he can sell out stadiums like wembley jsut whever he wants it has to be the right opponent.
Fury, maybe Wilder would probably do as well as this fight.

Its a very good question. Providing he wins I think they will take him out to the states and try crack America. But if a fight with a UK opponent arises you would think it would be in a stadium.

It will simply depend on his opponents.

20k arena is more than big enough for boxing, put a average card in one of them it would struggle to sell half. The best boxing atmosphere is the small halls

If he is forced into some mandatory vs some Hypejob.

Better opposition than Wilder and he has only had 18 fights compared to Wilders 38.

So if you want to talk about hypejobs then I suggest you start with Wilder.

Comparisons between Wilder and Joshua are unfair tbh, Joshua had an extensive amateur career, Wilders learning on the job. However, Wilders promoters need to realise what the responsibilities of a boxer are when they become champion
