Well if not Casa then Santa Cruz should be considered "Linear", the Linage technically has not been broken since Castillo and Corrales were making history with their bout.

What impresses me most about Juan Diaz is the fact he has been a champ for nearly 4 years already and is not even 25 years old yet. He stays active (will have 9-10 defenses in a 4 year span), and the kid did it while being a full time student in College.

I hope Juan stays at 135 for a while so he can build a great legacy there.

I just hope that after Nate beats him, Nate will then be considered "the man" at 135.......

Juan Diaz won't be the linear champ, but he's already looked upon as the top guy at lightweight.

Linear champs aren't always the best guys in their weight class.

Spot on, Mayweather won the linear Welter off of Baldomir, who gives a **** about that?

Where as we have some fights having no meaningful title in contention and those wins count for a lot.

He's young and his punches are becoming stiffer and stiffer as he comes closer to his physical peak.

I would say his 8 past ones would count. Seeing how Bhops 20 defense thing includes before he was unified.

And really its only fair to count from the begining because its hard to become unified champ these days with so many belts.

He should get a fight with Pac, a big win over pac can make him a superstar.

His 8 WBA defenses will count if he succeeds in establishing himself as the #1 LW beyond any doubt by beating the Casamayor-Katsidis winner after the Campbell fight, just like BHop's title reign.

He wont be an ATG cos Pac will end his streak when they meet. Providing Pac dont skip from julio to Hatton.

Well he is kinda in the same boat as Calzaghe was before Kessler. Nobody said Calzaghe's reign started when he unified all 3 belts, but Casa is kinda the man at the weight
