If K2 can make the cruiserweight division "HOT" like they did with 160 then we owe them major props!

Let's take a political break from calling people bums and what not to address the real. K2, HBO and GGG saved the middleweight division. It was cold as the arctic tundra since 2012 after Martinez vs JCC Jr. and was on a decline. The hype of Golovkin put new life in the division and it is at least visible aside from all the ****ery from both teams fighting "little guys", but that's another matter.

Enter Usyk and another overlooked division, Cruiserweight. I personally have not watched anything from the cruiserweight division since Roy Jones got chin checked by Frankenstein, Denis Lebedev. If Usyk and K2 manages to make the 200 pound division as active and exciting in appearance as the 160 division then we have to give credit where credit is due. I'm not big on Usyk but he looked great in the Glowacki fight and he is fleet of foot for a big ass dude.

Maybe the 200 guys can shine now.

The cruiserweight division is already active and shining and has been for years now. It just needs more worldwide attention. There's a wealth of talent and excitement waiting to be tapped. Ridiculous how it isn't by far the most popular division in boxing, IMO.

Yep so true,it was only me joining this forum that made me check it out as I'd never heard much from normal media about it,maybe cause it's full of Eastern Europeans and there not being any American guys as such but as a division there's so many quality guys and unlike some divisions they're not seen as divas?

You need to take a grip of reality, friend. HBO didn't make the MW division hot, the MW division isn't hot at all. One of the weakest divisions in boxing, easily. The only ppv they put on for that weight division, flopped 100% because they didn't build it up and shot their load.

Anyone who's paid attention to the ppv era of boxing knows that you build a fight. After lemiuex beat N'dam on Fox Sports One/Two he directly fought triple g on ppv. Terrible move. They should have had lemieux beat Stevens/Geale/random 160 jobber while triple g fought his usual nonsense. Then had the ppv. Or even extend it to another fight. So your initial statement is false my breh.

Anyone who's been following boxing knows cruiserweight has been fire for a while, c'mon.

Cruiserweight division is already hot, hotter than Rotisserie chicken at your local Wal Mart willie.

Well , I said that I have not been an active watcher of the 200lb division.
As far as the popularity of 160 it's undeniable that nobody cared about that division after the stated fight because all that people talked about was 147, 168,175 & HW. I understand K2s hustle on the people with GGG, but GBP is doing the same with Canelo who is really s LHW fighting welterweights. I agree with you though.

That is why I never really watched because it was a div filled with everything but Americans. I missed out probably on some good fights, plus I didn't follow foreign fights until 3 years ago.

Real shame that there isn't more American talent at CW, but until there is it's never going to be 'hot' in the US. Also Loeffler would simply run into the problems he has promoting Golovkin - they haven't got a big enough stable to put their own cards together and don't offer enough money or have the leverage in the US market to get the big fights to come to them.

That's actually a great point. I never thought about it, but yeah. I don't think it will last long though since I imagine Usyk will move up to HW if only for the money. It will be great for boxing as a whole if they are able to make the public care about that division again.

Cruiserweight is hot and ridiculously underrated too.
Essentially it's filled with guys that would almost all be heavyweights in previous eras. Usyk might make it bigger, but it needs some US players to get more attention.
