Kazuto Ioka is a four division champion who was a unified champion at 105. A little over a year ago he smashed undefeated 3 division champion Kosei Tanaka by knockout, after downing him 4 times. His record in title fights is 19-2, with both losses coming by fairly controversial split decision. One of these losses come to Donnie Nietes, one of only three boxers (along with Ioka) to win a title in every division from 105 to 115.
I assume you mean the active P4P list. Nietes has not looked the same since returning from his more than two year hiatus. If they were to fight, the Filipino would be more than 40 years old. While a win would be a nice notch on Ioka's belt and it would be satisfying to avenge his loss I don't think it does much to improve his pound for pound ranking. I could have Ioka anywhere from 5 to 9 depending on how I was feeling that day.
To my knowledge he has only ever won by UD or stoppage, I wouldn't say 50/50, more like he coasts with 116-112 type decisions.
He already did but they gave the decision to Nietes he should drop the belt and face Chocolatito next.
He's had a few close fights go his way. Revco, Yaegashi & Fukunaga. He certainly had a case for winning the first two, though. His two losses could really be wins though, so it pretty much evens out.
Yeah, I actually scored the Yaegashi fight 114-114 and thought if anything Yaegashi should have won. But that was like a decade ago to be fair
Fruatrated at Nietes' promotion. This dude couldve been a lot bigger than he is now. Very underrated.
