Jones deserves a rematch after his performance 1st time round.

The Khan fight seems fairly easy to make, they both fight on Sky & their respective teams are on good terms. Its the most lucrative option for a domestic fight & has a bit of history/animosity behind it.

Rees has already won a world title & is coming towards the end of his career. Can he sell 10k tickets & do record breaking numbers on Sky?

Easy fight vs a well known celebrity & for big money. What's your point?

I'm inclined to put that down to a late change of opponent & a probable lack of motivation.

Carson was on a good run prior to the Brook fight where he really did walk through bombs & kept on coming. He put in a tremendous effort that night & deserves a rematch, he seems like a good guy as well.

 

They'll likely have a fight back in Sheffield, totally packing out the Motorpoint. His first defence would likely be a rematch against Carson Jones, regardless of how **** Jones was in his last fight.

I'm convinced Kell will beat Alexander. I really am. Whether or not he'll have a great title reign or become the next Nathan Cleverly I'm not sure. Hopefully winning the world title though will be the start of a fantastic run of fights he'll have.

 

I fully expect his first defence to be Jones as well but Matchroom have shown that if their fighters want the big fights they'll do their best to get them made. If Kell wants a unification then I expect Eddie to make the fight.

 

Nothing wrong with fighting in Sheffield. If he's a draw there then why not have a few fights at home and become an even bigger star in the UK before heading out to America for the big fights.

He's a draw in Sheffield and promoter would be stupid not to take advantage of that. If he brings a world title back fights 2 or 3 times in Sheffield on Sky Sports at 10pm in the evening then he'll just become more popular and he'll have greater bargaining power if those big fights come about.

 

Exactly, nothing wrong with it as long as he fights decent opponents who'll come to win. Cleverly and Burns are just having joke fights.

 

He'll have at least 2 fights in Sheffield when/if he wins, help build up his profile more with the public. Then the Khan fight if Khan hasn't lost by then, possibley a huge fight in Britain. After that he can chase the unifications, he'd have much more bargaining power at that stage.

That would be perfectly fine imo, can't see why people want him running straight to America, not as though he's going after a very weak champion, he'll have proved himself to be world level if he wins.

 

Yer that's the spirit lets pack our best fighters off to America without building a profile first, sure that'll work out well for Brooks bank balance.

 

Allot depends on the performance. If Brook went in there and destroyed Alexander he is a candidate for major fights in the division.

I don't really see where you get the idea that Matchroom will want him in soft fights? Thats not there style with other fighters. They want to make money and the way to do that is by having Kell fight on US tv as well as Sky PPV.

C Level would be regular Sky Fights. B Level would be PPV if in the UK, A Level would be PPV anywhere in the world.

C Level - Carson Jones, Senchenko
B Level - Khan, Mallignaggi, Lopez, Ortiz,
A Level - Mayweather, Pacquiao, Marquez, Bradley

 

I can see him fighting Senchenko if he beats Alexander.

A fairly straight forward first defence for Brook with Hearn using Senchenko's win over Hatton for some hype.

ie .. Brook dishes out a beating to the man that beat the fans favourite type of thing.

 

I think it would be fair for him to take a money fight if he beats Alexander. Even if he beats him soundly, it's likely to be a hard fight so he'll need a little recovery time. Plenty of options for him out there if he's willing to travel.

Bradley, Malignaggi, Ortiz, Berto, etc. He could probably tempt Paulie to the UK or face him in NYC.
