If Taylor couldn't hurt Cory Spinks a JMW, who got sparked by Zab Judah a welterweight, or Kassim Ouma, another JMW he won't be able to hurt Pavlik

    Will he...?

    Surely not right?

I think it would go to the scorecards.

If it ends before time, then I think Pavlik has a 60-40% chance of winning.

Honestly, who has Kessler beaten? Other than Beyer, or Mundine, there isn't 1 name on that list that I have even heard of. Except for Balboa, but it's not the Balboa that matters.

    And Andrade

Who are the names on Pavlik's outside Taylor...honestly?

There is some solid competition on Kessler's, outside Taylor there is A LOT of garbage on Pavlik's.

Why do people insist on using the 'I know nothing about boxing therefore x fighter must be a bum' line of attack?

If you haven't heard of Librado Andrade, former WBC Champion Eric Lucas, former WBA champion (who beat Mudine for the title) Manny Siaca, then that says more about you than it does about Kessler.

That really is true. Personally, I don't think it says a thing about how a fighter will do against another fight. But if you're going to be honest and fair, Pavlik's fought Taylor, a fighter who prior to fighting Pavlik was torn down on a daily basis by people on this board as a fraud and a fighter being propped up by HBO. How things change...

If Pav. beats Kessler, Joe needs to fight Pav. or he'll be seen as a ducker

If Kessler beats Pav., Joe's in the clear

You put way too much stock in KDs and not enough analysis into the quality of the KD.

Hopkins caught Joe with a shot he didn't see coming and then finished it off with a push-down.

Joe was up in 3 secs and was the agressor for the remainder of the round.

He was more embarrassed and pissed off than hurt.

Kessler hits harder than Jermain, who put Pavlik on ***** street, so he's more than capable of KOing Pavlik.

Whether he does or not, or whether he suffers a KO at Kelly's hands, remains to be seen when they fight.

Most likely outcome, IMO, Kessler by UD.

I was not impressed with how Kessler looked vs Sartison. As for Sartison what the hell is this guy doing at 168. He seemed kind of thick in a tubby sort of way. looks like if he tried to diet and did some roadwork he could make 154 where he probably belongs. The Kesselr on this video gets crushed by Pavlik and Sartison is every bit the can Lockette was.

Imo. their best opponents stack up like this:

    1. Calzaghe (Kessler)
    2. Taylor (Pavlik)
    3. Mundine (Kessler)
    4. Andrade (Kessler)
    5. Miranda (Pavlik)
    6. Sartison (Kessler)

So, in a sense it could be argued that Pavlik has beaten the better man out of the two (if one agrees with the list) in Taylor.

Strange.....someone mentioned Dawson as if he was some sort of runner up if Calz put aside Pavlik....I actually think Dawson has the best chance of placing an L on Joe's resume. Call me silly but its just a feeling mixed with a bit of reason and logic but mostly a gut feeling. Mind you I never thought Old man Hopkins had much of a chance and I never thought Lacey had the defensive tools to hold off Joe's flurries (though I rooted for the young man) I thought Kessler would pull it off but it turns out he balls up into shell when thrown off rythm.
