If Kessler Dominates Joe. What becomes of Joe's legacy?

We'll see. I'm just fed up of all the predictions, rubbishing of each others records and national taunting. I just want to be happy that this huge fight is happening in my country, I'll be there and want to watch two very good undefeated boxers putting everything on the line.

 

The only way he will lose is if he gets old overnight.

However, if he is not apparantley old overnight and still fresh in the fight and Kessler still dominates him.

Then Kessler's legacy already jumps to a good position.

 

But if he loses, he will be shot.

 

Your not using good boxing logic.

Boxing just does not work like that.

 

I look forward to this - even if I have to wait several months to see it.

 

He would be seen in the same light as Prince Naseem Hamed, perhaps even less-so (which is saying something, considering Barrera atm is a lot greater than Kessler).

 

And Hamed had JCs skills? And MAB is as skilled as Kessler atm? Think you lost some memo that suggests that MAB is no longer prime...

I'm talking when he beat Hamed... CLEARLY the more accomplished fighter than Kessler... And I hated Prince, but he had a ton of natural skill. So yeah

 

Well, Joe C doesn't really have much of a legacy aside from being a ANOTHER long reigning SprMW champ like Ottke. If he loses, he may be seen as just "another good European fighter"...

 

The fact that you compare him to Ottke shows the absurdity that we have to live with.

 

Is there a flip side to this? Perhaps?

 

If Joe wins, and not a hometown decision but a clearcut victory, he is truly the greatest ever at 168 as far as accomplishments and legacy.

But if he loses, his legacy will be tarnished, but not as much if it were a close decision loss. If he gets KOed, however, the questions will spray through the air like wildfire.
