Kessler's stock was high because he did 12 rounds with Calzaghe.

Let's be honest here, apart from Manfredo, Joe has done 12 rounds for about 3/4 years now.

    Hardly mesmerising.

I think...I know Froch would really hurt Kessler - and the people that box out there know what i mean when i say that Froch's shot come around, under and over the guard. He is not a sharp shooter like Kessler - more of a wrecking ball.

What are you talking about? The fight was 116-112 at worst, could be a case for 115-113. Nothing to do with lasting 12 rounds, it was a creditable performance.

Froch would never hurt Kessler. He's too slow, and plants his feet to wind his shots up. That will not work, because Kessler's jab will keep him off balance and out of range most of the time, and Kessler's footwork is too precise, as seen in the Andrade fight. Another guy that winds up shots.

I would be supporting Mikkel Kessler, Froch is a *****... not a fan.

You'd have to fancy Kessler to stop him at some point late on but we'll have a clearer idea after Froch / Pascal.

I normally support the English fighters regardless but Kessler has always been proud of his own roots here (his Mum is from Salisbury), so it's not that clear cut.

At the moment Kessler wins this everytime - too fast. Joe rates him as the swiftest offloader of power shots he's come across. The difference between himself and Joe, apart from ring smarts, was footwork and this is something he should've improved on since that fight. Carl can bang but needs to wind them up and until now hasn't had to demonstrate the speed of reflex needed to come out on top of a Calzaghe-Kessler level fight. Dec 6 should answer some questions on how close the fight might be as Carl has had a painfully slow 'rise' and never been in a competitive fight he could possibly lose.

Very good, won both the completed rounds and then KO'd the guy with a very nice combo in the 3rd.

Kessler would smash Froch up inside 5 or 6 rounds.
I am not Frochs' biggest fan, I dont like his trash talk. His ego is absolutely huge. So I would be happy to see them meet, but sadly I dont think Froch would take that fight. If he did that would prove beyond doubt that he actually believes his own hype.
    Kessler - :D
    Froch - :dead
    Me - :rofl

Froch has improved ALOT since he first started. Froch is a geezer but when he first started he was awful. He is certainly one of the most overrated prospects ever. Now, he has got quite good because he's improved his defence, footwork and increase his skill set. Froch's power can be unbelievable and that is why he is always in the fight.

I can't see him beating Kessler though. Froch will eat more jabs then he has in his career PLUS when Kessler decides to let his punches go fast, hard and heavy, he can put you away or hurt you.

Other than in the Calzaghe fight, has Kessler lost more than a total of five rounds in his entire career?

I wonder who he will have next, a trip Stateside I hope......

You could have given Mundine 3. The scoring was generous for Mundine in Australia.

Maybe he lost some early in his career.

    I gave Mundine two......

Sartison didn't win one for me, Andrade was destroyed.....

Wouldn't mind seeing the Andrade vs Bute last round, apparently there was some controversy......

Would want Froch to win for British boxing but he has no chance at all.

Not sure about his chances either In December, If Pascal's chin holds he could use his better handspeed to make Froch look like the amateur he Is.
