I think you missed my point as well. Ali's victory over Mildenberger in Germany has zero significance.

In regards to the A, B, C level fighters..."DECEBAL" easily had the best break down in the past.

    It wasn't just A or B or C but rather C-; C; C+; B-; B; B+; A-; A; A+

The weakest journeymen being the C- level fighters and the P4P top 4 or 5 guys representing the A+ level fighters.

Back in 2007, I think it was realistic to rate Kessler's skills as A- level. He lost some reflexes, hand speed and mainly foot speed. Now he can probably be considered a B+ level boxer.

On the other hand, I presently see Ward as an A- level boxer that still has the potential to get higher as he's still young.

To answer the question, the location CAN make a big difference in the outcome for guys that aren't so far off in the skill department. I actually see Kessler winning in Denmark against Ward.

Ward has never looked better in a ring before or after Kessler. He put out a master piece in that fight but hasn't replicated it since. Lets wait and see before letting that sole Ward performance cloud our judgment...

Ward was is a gifted fighter but with all this clinching and holding he becomes very ZZZZzzzz...

I would love to see Ward box without his ref and judges in Denmark, but It will never happen...

Kessler would knock him out with Carl Froch in a brutal surprice.
The ring is smaller then ever and Stevie Wonder is ref (that's my dream, hehe)!

Kessler really got a beating last time. He was used to beat slow no moving guys like Beyer,Siaca and Andrade. A fast boxer like Ward,Dirrell, Dawson he was not ready for.
In europa there are no such type of fighters to learn against in fights or sparring.
Hopefully his new trainer can learn him a few things.

<<<<<<<------A picture is worth a thousand words.

Kessler cannot beat Ward. Andre dominates him regardless of venue.

and sometimes it just don't tell the right story
come on, there was a lot of things in that fight that was not by the book...
I doubt that Ward could make that one twice...

err, i voted Ward for UD. If anyone voted for Kessler, obviously they didnt watch their first fight lawlz..... It was not even REMOTELY close. I would dare say that the loss was so humiliating to Kessler he wouldnt do a rematch if he was asked for one....

Outside the "intentional headbutt" claims, Kessler has remarked that Ward beat him soundly.

I think Kessler is somewhat over-rated a bit, though he still should be considered being A-class caliber. I would liken him to Timothy Bradley. No weaknesses, above average in everything, but no strengths either....

I didnt miss the point. I knew what you were saying, but I did note many SMW title fights where it appears that American SMWs dont perform too well outside of America, when in the tough European SMW division

I think Ward likely would have been DQ'd in fighting the fight that he fought...

    Ward by UD.

Get over it with Kessler please. The man was looked at as the one to win the super six with ease all based on hype, a deceiving record and nothing else. The funniest are the Calzaghe fans who jumped on this bandwagon expecting something.

We dont know how well Ward can travel in a big SMW title fight. America hasnt had many SMWs who could win big fights away in Europe ie

    etc.
If Ward was to repeatedly hold and use the head like he did before against Kessler, Ward could well be disqualified.

Just look at that list, and to think how well alot of those fighters did fighting at home. Ward hasnt tried to prove himself like these fighters tried to do.

Ward is heavily overhyped at this time. I remember B Mitchell being heavily hyped when he first became a world champ and although Ward may well turn out to be better than Mitchell. Ward still hasnt done what Mitchell has done in his career yet, and nobody talks of Mitchell who was arguably Americas best SMW of the decade.
B Mitchell became a 2 time WBA SMW champ
He beat #1 Liles (something Ward is praised for doing) by KO for the WBA title
drew with future 2 weight world champ Girard
beat Siaca twice who went on to become WBA SMW champ who beat Mundine
beat former MW champ JC Green who beat a prime Joppy before Joppy was beaten by Trinidad or Hopkins.

Mitchell only lost by SD to Ottke (arguably one of the best SMWs ever) and was only ever beaten clearly once as a SMW.
