This just goes to show you that one of boxing oldest rules is still in effect. You only get what you earn. If he didn't rely on his name getting him the fight, and had he just kept it OG and took Alexanders belt. He would have been fighting Floyd May 3rd. Khan has no one to blame but himself. Prime example of false confidence backfiring. Can't wait for May 3rd.
We don't know that. We can only go by what happened, and what happened was Khan didn't fight Alexander. Even if Floyd did that, he could have just believed in his skills, went out, and got the job done. Period.
Funny thing is, if Broner didn't lose to Maidana, Khan blatant ducking of Alexander would have paid off.
In hindsight, ducking the Alexander fight was a big mistake. However, Khan will have his chance to redeem himself in May and he'll show whether or not he deserves a shot at Mayweather, assuming he picks a credible opponent. In a way, I thought the Diaz fight was a mistake even if he had looked better in his performance. Most saw Diaz as washed up, although he drew with Porter. Khan really was in a no-win situation in that fight. He might've been better off fighting a guy like Malignaggi, who had a bigger name.
I can't say I disagree. A point one could argue is that Khan did beat the guy that most think beat Porter ..who in turn beat Devon. Khan needs to fight a legit top fighter or just shut up. It sucks if he really was told not to fight Devon but I can't say it is true either.
I dont know man, I just feel like had he beat Alexander he would have been a lock for May 3rd. And I agree, he did beat Diaz but didn't look so good in doing it. A lot of boxing his "what have you done for me lately". Especially when it comes to fighting top fighters.
