I actually think this will happen. IMO he has the skill to protect his weak chin. But we will see if I'm right in a few weeks time

    If Khan does the following:

Gets past Maidana in dec, The makes a defence against Zab Judah before fighting the winner of Alexander/Bradley and then fights Marquez at 140lbs with the unified title, Move up to 147lbs and beat Berto He has earned his shot at Mayweather Jr.

    So Maidana --> Judah ---> Alexander/Bradley Winner ---> Marquez --> Berto ---> Mayweather

If he can do that then he should earn the respect he wants. That being said he might just get KOd by Maidana so you never know.

I truly believe Khan has the qualities to surpass Hatton but for me these wins wouldn't do it, perhaps they'd put him on a level pegging. To go beyond that A.K. needs a Mayweather or Pac on his resume. Give the lad chance though, he has plenty of time.

Don't think Floyd will be hanging around that long, especially seen as Khan is gone into a 2 fight a year boxer already..

Marquez is too small and getting too old to really be a fair fight at lww these days, I wouldn't want to see it unless Khan drops weight and fights him at lightweight. I don't like the way Khan seems to go after old well known boxers that are past their prime and fighting them above their normal fighting weight, and In my opinion if any fight with Mayweather ever comes off it wont be until Mayweather is at least 36-37 years old.

No it ties in perfectly with what Roach has said that Khan will hit his peak at 18 months,

He will be about to get Judah, Alexander/Bradley, Marquez in 2011, After Berto in mid 2012 he will be ready for Mayweather.

If Khan beat Maidana and then the winner of Bradley-Alexander that put's Khan in the top 10 P4P list and the 140 King at the age of 24.

Something many never fought he would even get close to getting post Prescott.

Soon Khan can be one of the top 10 best fighters in the world.

Khan surpasses Hatton imo. Tszyu was past prime and the division was weak in the 3 years after that. Paulie was ranked no.2 in the division. Rees and Maussa good enough to hold a belt. And Ricky didn't even fight Witter.

Why do people keep saying Hatton "ruled the division for 5 years" Cotto was in his division for alot of those years, who Hatton would never have gone near.

If Khan does what is said in the original post he will be undisputed champion at LWW.

It's highly unlikely Marquez will fight Khan, he isn't interested in fighting at 140 against him. Khan has even said Marquez has "missed his opportunity", which is a little disrespectful.

The route GBPTK plan to take ( assuming everything went their way) is much simpler, It's Maidana in Dec, Bradley in Spring, Mayweather in the fall

I wouldn't rule it out. If JMM beats Katsidis, there isn't any massive fights for him if he stays at lightweight.

No. The Maidana win in comparison won't really stack up that far, the winner of Bradley/Alexander would but I still don't think it would surpass the Tszyu win. I actually rate Khan's win over Malignaggi higher than Hatton's, and Kotelnik wouldn't have been a bad addition to Ricky's 140 resumé. But you have to take into account the sustained period of Hatton's dominance at the weight.

Cotto was in the division for about a year when Hatton became the Ring champion in 2005. Hatton then proceeded to 'rule the division' until he lost to Pacquiao.

When Cotto moved up, Hattons "rule" consists of beating Urango, Castillo, Lazcano and then Paulie.

Witter, Bradley, Holt, and Bailey were all around but those fights never happened.
