Khan has the potential to be a ppv star if he avoids certain fighters, because he is a very polarizing individual. You love or hate him, there is really no indifference.

As far as him beating Cotto or Marquez, both would likely stop him. Cotto would batter him into submission, and Marquez, on of the best counterpunchers of this era (if not the best) would have no problem timing and dispatching of Khan.

Khan would beat Marquez and Cotto in fairly one sided fights. It wouldn't make him a PPV star but he'd do good numbers against Floyd, certainly a lot better than the likes of Maidana and Guerrero

Khans popularity is about as high as it will ever be, and unfortunately for Khan fans, that just isnt high enough to merit a big paying mega fight with floyd.

Then fight Garcia

Then floyd.

 

Beating a faded Marquez is a no win situation. Khan has to look spectacular even if he's not knocking people out. He could have looked that way vs Diaz, but barely survived and looked good, but not great vs Alexander. Gatti wasn't the best, but he was popular cuz he was exciting.

 

Khan is not, nor will he ever be, the huge draw that he and his fans think he is.

If he wants to become a star, he'd better avoid big punchers.

If Khan gets KO'd or stopped again like he did against Garcia and Prescott, it's over for him.
