If Khan DOES fight Pacquiao next year, and wins, then what? Where will he rank P4P? What should he do next?
Darni Pacquiao has lost 3 of his last 6 and was knocked spark out by Marquez in one of those, is taking retirement, talking politics, coming off a defeat and has been in physio for how long? And beating him automatically makes you top 3 P4P?
He wouldn't rank p4p as it would be indicative of Pacquiao's severe decline more than anything else. However, I can't envision a scenario whereby Khan doesn't get KO'd by Pacquiao. Easy KO for Manny, plus Khan is a higher-profile/bigger-selling fight than Crawford. But Khan is not Top Rank and Arum gains nothing by Pac going out on a win. Arum most likely desperately wants it to be Crawford so the PPV torch can be passed (I would slightly favor Crawford over Pacquiao at the moment).
If Pac wins then he is still a top #2 or #3 fighter and can still command $15,000,000+ pay days and may not retire. Cant see him beating Khan now though at this stage.
Good points, but beating Pacquiao still carries some weight, OK top 5 P4P.. Deffo in the top 10.. Then if Khan beats Brook or Garcia Khan will be top 3 P4P
Firstly I don't think it happens. Secondly I think he gets KO'd if it does happen. Lastly I still don't think he has an excuse to avoid Brook if he does win it. I am also starting to think that he is avoiding Garcia.
I think Garcia KO'S Khan again. I know a lot of people like to put a lot of weight into the fact he won the first two rounds against Garcia but don't be silly.
Darni is mentally ill, get used to it. --- On topic, this will definitely boost Khan in the P4P rankings considering he has solid wins at Welterweight already but won't take him too high. He'll be lucky if he breaks the lower top 10. Next, I'd like to see him fight for the vacant titles against other opposition and try to unify the division.
A win over a Pacquiao on the verge of retirement (probably his last fight) doesn't erase all of his previous short comings. He's not automatically elevated to top 3 P4P, in fact, he doesn't even take Pac's P4P status. I wouldn't even place him in the top 10 with a win over Pacquiao.
