Hopefully he will **** off for good. But I see another path of least resistance like he has done since Prescott - rematch Kotelnik, Morales, Casamayor, Murray etc and his fan boys will again be saying "his chin has improved" (based on what?).

Retire? why the heck would he retire? see that's the sort of knee jerk reaction which makes promoters pad records and put soo much emphasize on the '0'. So what if he loses? these things happen. It doesn't mean he can't win other big fights.

He's facing a big puncher who most of these so called boxing fans said he was avoiding, plus many people are picking him to lose anyway. Don't see why he should pack it in if he were to lose, just means he's not as good as we thought. He's still young, there would still be a lot of money for him on the table, far too much investment has been made for him to just walk away and he has too much pride and courage to not come back. One thing we can't criticise about Amir is his desire, work ethic and heart, something you can't say about people like Victor Ortiz.

My guess is he would probabily ask/get a rematch, especially if he gets caught and KO'd after he'd been dominating the fight. Remember Terry Norris was destroyed in four rounds by Simon Brown, now granted Maidana is no Simon Brown, but it's a similar type of situation. Norris didn't call it a day, he did what a fighter of his calibre and with his skillset (similar to Khans) is supposed to do and got the job done by being ultra cautious and outboxing him in the rematch.

It would then depend on what happens in the rematch, even if Khan was to lose again he would still go on to have big fights with the likes of Alexander and Bradley. Admittedly if he can't beat Maidana with two attempts then he would have little chance with Timmy, but it wouldn't stop him trying. He would still get those big fights because he's the biggest draw in the division. He also has the tools and the temperament to reinvent himself and hide his weaknesses ala Wlad.

He could still come again. But it will be interesting to finally see him in there with a big puncher.

People say his chin has improved BECAUSE at lightweight he was floored by Willie Limond a guy who had around 5 KO's in 30 fights. Then stepped up in levels against Kotelnik who had 13 KO's in 30 fights, he took around 80 headshots in this fight and didnt flinch. No ones saying he can take a punchers shot now or that hes Jake LaMotta, but at his natural weight it seems a bit more sturdy (slightly)

My honest assesment is as follows:
Khan will be carefull early and is a much, much better boxer than Maidana. He will dominate till at least the middle or late stage. Thing is this gets real tricky cause Maidana also has a pretty poor chin. Khan might be able to punish him enough to stop it. But form the mid rounds on anything can happen. Maidana could land one big shot and end it quite easily. At best for Khan this is a 50-50 fight, and to be fair chin issues aside Maidana could do the same to just about anyone. Khan is just more vulnerable due to his chin.

IMO Khan needs to do what Lewis done against guys he saw as a threat... get them the **** out of there early, its better to be in with Maidana for 9 minutes rather than 36 minutes, i truly believe Khans speed can **** Maidana up enough for an early stoppage, Maidana although tough does not possess a great chin and is there to be hit.

I wonder if Wlad considered retiring after getting KO'd by the mighty Lamon Brewster, soon after being Ko'd by the mighty Sanders? I doubt it.

Prescott could eventually become as irrelevant to Khan's career as Brewster and Sanders are to Wlad's. In Wlad's case Steward turned him around, got him playing to his strengths and turned him into a complete machine. Roach could have done the same with Khan.

I think Khan takes Maidana easily. His punches are fast, accurate and powerful. I don't see Maidana hearing the final bell.

Only reason i say it about Khan is because hes a bigger star at this time than Wladamir was during that time. It would be publicised heavily if he were KO'd again and criticism would flood in the boxing world and among ''experts''. Wlad was lucky to have not been in as much limelight at the time although he was still known obviously.
