IF Khan stops Malignagi would he have proved the critics wrong?

No he would not, the answer is really simple Cotto destroyed Paulie, Hatton for christ sakes out boxed and stopped Paulie.... Khan is here to pick up the left overs.

Agree to disagree then pal, I don't think beating Paulie will silence any critics because he is feather fisted. If Khan stops him the "haters" will inevitable say that Paulie went to the well against Cotto and Hatton and weakened his chin (not that I agree). Beating Maidana, even if he outboxed him from the outside, would have at least stopped people from claiming that he ducks punchers and he could have stepped his competition up after that. All about opinions though, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

It would be a good win, but beating Paulie proves nothing. Bradley or Alexander is a different story. Khan beats any of those 2 he gets mad props. Credit approved!

...and another thing I don't understand, since when did you have to be a big puncher to be a threat to Khan?

Yeah sure Paulie doesn't hit hard, but he possesses various other attributes which make him a very good fighter. He's intelligent, good hand speed, great chin, and maneuvers around the ring brilliantly. Khan has never faced an opponent that could do all these things. Mark my words, fighting a guy like this in his back yard for a US debut, is not as easy as some are making it out to be.

If Khan does win by a legit stoppage, then he would have made a serious statement of being the future champ of this division

Chin wise no, Power wise yes, if Hatton and Cotto could not KO Paulie and Khan does then of course that means something.

Adding any weight to Khan's speed should have good results, at 140 Khan could be packing a better punch.

I saw a thread where people were laughing at the idea of Khan stopping Paulie and now they are all saying he won't get any respect even if he does it! I don't understand the people that post here, they are so single minded and biased, its a ****ing joke. If Amir Khan truly knocks out a guy that NOBODY has knocked out cleanly then of course he should get respect, its got NOTHING to do with the power Paulie has, its about how tough and skillful Paulie is.

And to those saying he needs to prove his chin against a hard hitter? Prove what? How ****ing gravity makes things go downwards? Amir Khan won't get hit flush for a long time I am guessing, he will peddle away from anybody coming at him with the hard shots, and will not stand there and take them.

The fact of the matter is 4 fights ago Amir Khan was badly knocked out, and in 4 fights he was smartly moved straight back up near the top and is now a world champion, he has had two confidence boosting fights, anybody that thinks thats wrong after getting knocked out like that can go **** themselves, and he had fought a decent champion in Andreas Kotelnik, and then he fought his mandatory (Salita) and then had a plan to make a US debut against a big step up of competition (skill wise) in his own backyard, and its worth pointing out most fighters don't even go across to other countries to establish themselves at such young ages. And with all of those FACTS people are still making up their own theories and still hating on this kid. Its insane. People don't think Kotelnik was a good fighter? Well thats fine, Khan won every single round. And you think Salita was a bum with a padded record? Thats fine too because Khan beat him in 72 seconds. If he had struggled against these people you are discrediting then fine, you points are fine, but he beat them easily! So I just don't understand some of the **** people come out with!

    /End Rant.

don't forget something: he hasn't win yet.

You've got a point, but the critics aren't hating on Amir's boxing skills, which are admittedly very very good, even at this early point in his career. They're hating on his suspect chin, which isn't going to be tested in this fight.

If Khan stops Malignaggi it will be impressive and a great win, but it won't prove anything.

    Left overs? Idiot :patsch

Paulie is in the prime of his career as of now. His style was screwed in the Hatton fight and is back to what he does best. He's just had a good win and looked impressive in it.

Haters like you will never buy into Khan.

What you're going to say next: "Yeah but he's ducking maidana blah blah"

    Cry me a river, *****.

Like someone said earlier, if khan gets hit flush by a maidana or a bradley **** it even a pacquiao, hell go down. We all know he aint got the best chin in the world, so everyone whos sayin they wana see khan in with a puncher are u expecting khan to get hit and take the punches? Instead of asking if khan can take a shot, we should probably question how well is freddy roach training amirs defence and can khan keep his chin protected well enough against the best of his division.

If he fought maidana he would box and move all night not getting hit. Obviously bradley and alexander would be much harder fights but khan is agile, hes young hes quick and isnt the immature fighter he was when he was kod by prescott.

If khan can master the art of defence he could be the best in this division YES even better than bradley. Hes only 23 he still has 3/4 years before he peaks

I think people criticise him for the fact that he won't fight someone who poses a problem for him style wise i.e someone with power who can expose his chin i.e his mandatory Maidana whom he ducked.

There is no doubting Khan has skill. I think he will beat Paulie with relative comfort. If/When he beats someone like Maidana he will have proved all doubters wrong.
