If Khan wants to continue to box he must change back to safety first approach..

Boxing can be a brutal sport and one punch can change a fight, Khan does not have a great chin so has to remember this and adopt a safety first style behind his long jab and manly conducting his business from range.

It's amazing to see this how these bad and unrealistic habits come about, the trainer can be partly blamed and his team, it's amazes me how reckless Khan was vs Garcia when everyone knowing such a big fight was cert for the end of the year, does not make business sense the way Khan fought the fight, it was a clear getting the win job type of fight where at all costs he must get the win.

What even more shocked me that they already had this of thing vs Peterson the fight before and I thought they would learn, crazy his whole team and trainer need to get fired, they are there to protect and train the fighter the right way, mad angry at Roach too, he and Khan both have a ego problem taking these fighters lightly.

The only way I see Khan improving is him moving to a tough trainer who don't take no **** and trains this big head dumb fighter, it seems to see Khan got the tools but too egoistic and dumb to know what's best for him, he needs to be guided harshly in order for him to improve in any way.

He needs to learn to establish a scoring jab - not a set up jab for combos

He needs to massively improve his balance - both on movement and when / after punching

Putting his hands up, circling round the ring then jumping forward is not 'being defensive', its an accident waiting to happen.

Oh, and never trade punches for the rest of his career.

 So you blame Roach now? I agree that Khan has possibly reached a plateau with Roach, but you're giving the trainer too much credit.

Khan is what he is. You can't seem to accept he's a limited fighter. His heart and his hand speed are what makes him. You take away his hand speed and his warrior mentality and you can take away his achievements. His Olympic medal, his world titles are gone.

Footwork, power, boxing brain, defence, ability to fight on the inside, ability to counter, punch resistance. They're all missing. Tell me what you have if you take his hand speed away from him? You talk as if any Coach training Khan has a once in a generation talent to work with. Khan fights stupid, he's not a student of the game. I can't see him staying up for hours watching old black and white footage like Tyson did. However, that's not the only reason he had 3 losses. The fact is, he's just not as "skilled" as people make out.

Regarding the Garcia fight. Khan wasn't that reckless. He became that way after he was hurt, but he actually had the right gameplan at the start. He was staying on the outside, doing well, but also taking a few shots himself. He was getting timed by Garcia.

He took a shot he never recovered from. Then his balls took over and it was over for him. Folks can analyse every last detail of this. Find someone or something to blame. His trainer, his team, his gameplan, whatever. For him, it's a good attitude to have. Why accept that you're not as good as you thought you were? That's a bit defeatist, but those of us on the outside can see the truth. Maybe those things have played a part, but the truth is that Khan is very limited and has done well to get to where he's at. He's not done badly at all for a guy with nothing but hand speed and poor punch resistance.

You expect Khan to be a great fighter but why? If you look a Floyd, he has speed, he has boxing intelligence, he has a great defence, he can fight on the outside and inside, he has punch resistance, he has heart, he has footwork, he can adapt. Take away one attribute, and he's still world class.

Pacman has power in both hands, speed, footwork, ability to throw shots from unusual angles, granite chin. Take away one attribute and he's still world class.

Take away Khan's speed and all he has left is his balls. Why there was such an obsession about a Khan vs Mayweather fight I'll never know. It was ridiculous to take the idea seriously. Pacman vs Khan is equally as stupid. He's not a complete fighter and never has been.

Yea, that's the only way he should box. He needs to fight with fear, fear of getting hit. Not macho type thinking he can take any shot... Emanuel can teach him well I think. Even in the Garcia fight he could have easily worked on the cut over Garcia's eye all night with his jab and win by UD or even TKO late in the fight.

If he doesn't fight smart, he'll get knocked out bad again and then it'll probably be time to retire. If that happens it wouldn't surprise me, coz he appears mentally incapable to follow instructions.

I rather we take Khan for who he is. Nothing more than what he is and nothing less. He lost to a very good fighter. His flaws alone can not be blamed. You must give credit to the man that beat him. I'm annoyed with how people continuously mention Khan has this flaw, that flaw. No one is perfect and the only people who should be blamed for how Amir was supposedly meant to reach a particular pinnacle should be the people who naively thought that Peterson and Garcia were easy fights for Amir.

You can not win them all. No fighter can (bar Mayweather). So let's just take Amir for the fighter that he is and live with it. The fact that he generates excitement and drama in the ring should be enough. Blaming him and others for every little flaw isn't going to do anything.

I'm bored with how we always have to criticize every fighter that we have for not having this or that. We can't learn to appreciate and that's what is putting boxing down.

Due to his limitations he will always be in exciting fights which is a bonus!

A lot of people forget he was fighting fine before the knockdown, the way he got up straight away without taking a knee reminded me of Prescott fight.

If Khan cant listen and work to a plan then it doesnt really matter who trains him. He is gonna keep wanting to slug it out and go to the trenches when he should use his boxing skills and boxing brain.

Not sure if this is in reference to my post, but I'm not trashing Khan for not being a complete fighter. He's fun to watch and is still world class regardless of his flaws.

Flaws will be mentioned on boxing forums though, because we're not here to just praise fighters. In this case it's needs to be brought up because people have unrealistic expectations of him. As if Garcia was a massive upset or something. The misconception is that Khan is a "skilled" fighter, which is just not true. I know many people on this site are haters and will always look to have a pop at Khan no matter what, but that's not my intention. Just pointing out that he is what he is, not the elite guy some expect him to be.
