    Styles make fights.

Matthysse is more of a boxer. I hope they make it happen. Honestly think Amir would box circles around the guy.

That's what makes Matthysse better. It's more intelligent pressure and better shot selection. As well as arguably more power.

There's only one place to settle the argument :bbb

Imo one of the best fights out there if the 2 Argies get it on

    1) I don't think Khan's a particularly good boxer. He's poor on the counter, and prefers to get out of range then come back in. He's a volume puncher as well. Fighters with good timing can catch him easily, and a good jab will keep him off-balance. Not sure if Matthysse is the guy to do that, but I don't think it's anything to do with boxing skills.

    2) He probably doesn't, but he delivers his punches correctly so has a better chance of hurting his opponents.

    Matthysse would stop Maidana IMO.

He'd have him lunging in with big ones all night and eventually walk him onto something.

Khan vs Matthysse is the best fight in the division for me, in the continued absence of Bradders.

Imo morales and matthyse both won their last fights. Bradley is a non entity seeing as he openly avoided khan.

If khan beats the winner of matt and morales there's only really peterson and prescott left in the division.

I was being harsh on khan earlier by misunderstanding the logistics of it all.

A win effectively clears out the division and unifies 3 belts.

Amazing achievement that would surpass ricky.

Right now he's below him but a convincing win puts him above imo.

I think Khan has a better shot at beating Matthysse, than he did against Maidana. All about styles. Matthysse doesn't seem to be as relentless and as active - two things, in addition to power, which cause Khan fits. He tends to be a little more patient and may afford Khan the comfort of boxing at a more reserved pace than he did against Maidana.

By no means do I consider it an easy fight, but it's a win that will do his legacy at 140 a **** load of good, and one that even his harshest critics will give credit for.

With Morales saying he doesn't intend to fight Khan in 2011, I really hope Matthysse wins and Khan's team give him a serious consideration as an opponent next. If they don't, I'll be disappointed.

Yeah, **** Bradley. Prescott won't beat McCloskey, so he can be dismissed right away. Which leaves Peterson, who, unfortunately, will most likely be picked if Matthysse ends up being the one holding the WBC belt. The cynic in me believes Khan's team, with their 147 plans in place, won't be too keen on facing another tough, hard punching Argentinian, despite me believing he has a good shot at beating him and looking good.

    v McCloskey TD 6

Khans LWW reign is in my opinion ok but ultimately a sort of series of hollow victories...some against sorta good but definitely faded fighters like Malignaggi and Judah. The Maidana fight was great, but he could easily have been stopped in round 10, and it was shocking how many times the ref warned him but did nothing about him pushing down on Maidanas neck. He didnt look good against McCloskey...and the ending was bizarre.

I would have liked to see him unify the belts by beating the guys that actually had them...ie Bradley and Alexander...beating a really faded Judah or never really was Matthysse, means very little in my humble opinion.

Matthysse beat Alexander to anyone with eyes, yet you want him to fight Alexander and not Matthysse? :think

Yip, i thought it was a bit of a ***** (though clever) move by Roach or whoever thought of it (assuming Khan wasnt the one that thought of it) , getting No 1 and 2 in the division at the time (Bradley and Alexander) to fight each other for the chance to fight Khan who had only beat Kotelnik and Malignaggi at the time!

Yeah Khan V Alexander, interests me more than Khan v Matthysse

ps I missed the Alexander v Matthysse fight

Bradley only fought Alexander after he got schooled by Kotelnik before that fight he wanted to let the Alexander fight marinate.
