If Khan wins convincingly, would he be an acceptable opponent?

Khan is the second fastest WW in boxing just behind Pac.

He's just as powerful as Pac, and he's got a far better outside game than Brook or Alexander.

His ONLY deficiency is chin. If he had the recovery skills take the big shots and maintain composure, there wouldnt be a debate as to who the p4p #1 is as Khan would have long ago rid us of both Floyd and Pac. NTM, Garcia would be a footnote, as would Mathysee, Bradley, Roidquez, and even Cotto and Canelo.

Khan would be right there next to SRL in terms of ATGness.

BUT.........chin implants are non-existent. And defense only wins when you can effectively implement offense thru it. :think

Because it was a close fight that could have gone either way. Khan wont get in there with Garcia because he knows how bad he got sparked and wont wanna do that again.
Maidana is the safer opponent, and if he can work chino then it makes a good case for a fight with floyd.
Honestly, what on earth has Khan done to get a mayweather fight?! Even if he beats Alexander its still not a huge accomplishment. Hell, Porter whooped Alexander, why doesnt he fight him? Why not fight Thurman? **** Khan....Cant stand that dude. But I would like him a hell of alot more if he didnt truly believe that he should get the Floyd fight.

Khan's only weakness isn't his chin. Even if he had a stronger chin, he'd still have a low ring IQ, and he'd still make amateur mistakes. He wasn't able to adapt to Garcia's hooks, he charged right at Prescott, then did it again after being dropped, and struggled against shot Julio Diaz. P4P is about overall skills.

He's nowhere near the master boxer you're trying to make him out to be.

Listen to Paulie Malinaggi's feedback. Khan has more than speed.

Beating Alexander shouldn't be the bar or it has fallen hard

Beating Alexander a few years ago and you got a better case

147 is deep and Floyd and manny are leagues ahead

1 noteworthy win isn't enough but then again these guys in the landscape won't fight each other

It's a formula win one decent fight get a belt snd wait for a phone call

Why would Thurman or brook fight each other?

The risks aren't being made they'll recycle guys like Karras or Diaz

He makes those mistakes b/c he can't keep his composure after being cracked.

When he takes a shot without buckling, he's a masterful boxer-puncher with lightning fast handspeed.

Take away his chin deficiency and he's a completely different fighter.

And FTR......this huggy-bear style that Hunter is imposing on us.......it's only making it worse for Khan stylistically. He needs to go back to the kill or be killed kid he was at 24. :think

lad theres so much contradictory stuff in this post, khan beat maidana clearly even though it was close, garcia is still at 140 and his father didnt want the rematch, Alexander hammered maidana recently and the only signifigant win maidana has at welter is broner who moved back down because it seems like he couldnt hack it after escaping with a win over malignaggi then being beat. Thurman himself hasnt steeped it up when he could have fought alexander. Porter probably would have got it if he beat brook . Khan with a win over alexander would end up being one the fighters with the better resmes that floyd has fought in 10 years

Garcia was timing Khan, and shot Julio Diaz was winning rounds against him. Khan's really not that good. Don't act like he's some H2H nightmare.

If Garcia could time Khan, then surely Floyd can. Floyd would adjust to Khan's speed, and win.

Beating Broner and Provodnikov was enough. Plus khan has beaten Maidana.
