If Khan wins convincingly, would he be an acceptable opponent?

Of course I disregard 140. They aren't fighting at 140. They're fighting at 147. Results at 140 do not mean anything if you're fighting at 147.

Plenty of fighters lack power due to being weight-drained etc and then move up and find it comes back to them, so it's just not sensible to assume anything holds true from one weight to another.

You have to prove yourself when moving up to a new weight and Khan hasn't done that. If he beats Alexander and then beats a Bradley or Brook, fair enough, but Collazo and Alexander combined are not wins worthy of fighting the P4P number 1.

Yeah I think as long as Brook has a solid win it would be doable. If Brook ends up looking poor in his next fight (win or lose) the injury will come up as a reason. (rightfully so)

If you are going to have Brook face a Mayweather, then it has to be proven that the injury will not be a factor and that Brook is at the top of his game.

Ok, fair enough. We agree in some areas and disagree in others. We both want to see the best fights and there is nothing wrong with that. Nice to have a civil debate on here.

Sadly Floyd's marketed himself so well that people continue to buy his product despite knowing they are being shafted. Incredible really.

Uh-oh. Now you've upset the Floyd huggers! Pac and Floyds legion of numbskulls don't like the truth.

Khan has both speed and power, and he can fight long and mid distance. The fact that he's much younger than Floyd can factor big.

A fighter does'nt always have to be smarter to win a boxing match. The example I give is Samuel Peter jabbing the pants off of James Toney in their rematch by simply constantly setting everything up off the jab.
After Peter seldom used his jab on Toney in their first fight, a fight in which most thought Toney won, Peter changed his tactics and completely DOMINATED Toney in their rematch.

In many cases its a matter of a fighter with a the right style using the right tactics to beat a fighter who may be that much smarter than you.
People have to remember, Mayweather is no longer a spring chicken, for a fighter like Khan who has youth and physical characteristics to match, Mayweather may be a sitting duck.

Floyd has fought harder punchers than Khan.

Floyd would adapt and beat Khan.

It would still be a close match in my opinion. Too many people under rate Khan (I agree some people over rate him too, but Khan isn't at all bad).

I still think the ultimate fight would be Manny v Floyd. Khan only deserves Floyd if he comfortably defeats Alexander and a Bradley or Brook.

Yes to both. Floyd and Manny are not some supermen who only fight ATG's.

And beating a lightweight who jumped 2 weight divisions is worthy of p4p #1 TWO TIMES?!?. Or beating berto in the case of Guerrero and Ortiz is also? :patsch:patsch:patsch

Nothing Khan does makes him worthy of the fight as more than a tune up. If he moves up to middle and takes Cotto's title convincingly and easily then perhaps. Alexander is strictly B level, though he is good, of course.
