No one is trying to re-write history, just merely pointing out the fact that he never faced any of the best. Btw while i'm naming fighters that were unwilling and or unable to face him I might as well add Whitaker to the list.
To be considered great you have to fight the best and like it or not he simply did not get in the ring with the best. I do not need to do any research on his career as i already know he didn't step in ( not even one) with the best of his era. If you would like to consider him so great then more power to ya!
tszyu started off great, much like mayweather jr the second half of tszyus career was about as average as you could get it.... the last 6 years of his his career he fought garbage fights no one gave a **** about....except judah when judah was actually a threat..... in the last 6 years he fought 9 times... 2 against sharmba mitchel (YAWN) chavez who had 4 losses at this point and was a shell with 107 fights ahmed santos- who the what ???? ottkay urrakal? and hes known for ...?? ben tackie....... YAWN and the biggest waste of damn time besides the worthless rematch with mitchell....was fighting jesse james leija...who previously had quit in his fight with micky ward over a very insignificant cut then get mugged by ricky hatton there you have it... and overated legend of the board who never had a superfight or a ppv.... not to mention vince phillips beat the **** out of him....
He's never been "starched". And that wasnt his first US fight you idiot. Getting stopped in the 10th round after being in a war that he was out willed in is not starched you moron.
i feel ya.....i mean whitaker started out at 135 and eventually him and tszyu were at the same weight...whitaker would have met him at a weight...plane and simple he didnt want guys like whitaker or dlh and definatley didnt want frankie randall who wrecked chavez.....he like to fight guys like ahmed santos, and feather fisted sharmba mitchell, jesse leijs....:rofl:rofl he had a 2 or 3 year window to fight randall...who had the WBA 140 title theres always a bottom line..and this bottom line is he damn sure didnt fight the best...:deal
you dont seriously believe what you just wrote? so the only guys available when hes in his prime are sharmba mitchell not once but 2 times...james leija? ahmed santos? a chavez that was beaten up 2 times by randall, 2 times by DLH, ears boxed off by whitaker , and just coming off a 10 round loss to Willie Wise?? chavez loses a dec to a guy no one knew,, a journey man, and tszyu figured that would be something people wanted to see...yeahhhhh ummmm ok......:rofl
He made Zab do the chicken dance and ruined him, for this he will always be awesome to me. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCaHM1d727E[/ame]
I dunno about Whitaker, but I know KT wanted DLH badly and was going to get in the ring with him after Cool Vince, but we know how that turned out. I would imagine that if the Pernell fight was available, KT would have jumped on it. Would be interesting to find out if someone wanted to do the research.
ice, i am surprised that somebody would put so much effort in to discredit tszyu. he might not have been your top fighter but to focus on such negativity towards such a talented fighter i think just shows what type of person u r. i have never seen any proof that tszyu avoided anybody. its not like he moved up and down weight to avoid certain fighters ffs. plenty of others used that excuse for avoiding other fighters.
Mate, I rate DLH, but he chased the $$$ - that was what determined who he fought. How many of the best that he fought did he actually beat?
