If Kov rematches Alvarez and wins...then what will you say?

The man got caught in the 7th, and failed to hold on.
Maybe now he can learn to fight hurt

 

People just like to wait when that fighter loses just so they can make themselves feel smart about a fighter that they don't like. Kovalev is a special talent and a good fighter who unfortunately didn't fully live up to his fearsome reputation.
As far as the rematch goes it remains to be seen if he even gets a rematch at all. And even if he does I don't think he'll do much better. I personally see him losing to Alvarez again if they fight again.

He said on instagram maybe it's time to hang them up, I know that's emotional because he lost. I think it would be absurd if he took the rematch. if he takes the rematch it's a Win or Retire situation by a guy that has a boxing IQ that could have an easier night. If he wants to continue he should have a path fight 2-3 people that he can beat, he can still Kill B+ fighters I think. If he wants to go for one last fight he should do Stevenson as both of them are about to go out.

 

I seen the mod talking about how he knocks out everyone forget his name CT7389284 or something. and how good his movement is, which honestly I never agreed with. He made massive articles about Kovalev where some was true, some was questionable, and other stuff was a man crush. It was obvious that there were a lot of holes in his game without the "man crush goggles" movement and speed was always on ALvarez side, some people had the Chilemba vs Alvarez fight closer than I did or even called it a robbery, just because Alvarez had the same issues everyone does, but I still have Alvarez winning fairly wide.

Kovalev was just as good as the other top 4 people at the weight all along. I honestly think Beterbiev would have beat him all along.


Bivol on the other hand MAY be the same thing, he might not be as good as people think. he for sure needs 2-3 more fights or I think the storm beats him too.

Gvosyk is sometimes easy to hit but he has the ability to take over the division if he isn't clocked.

 

Kovalev is still past prime even if he won that.

Kovalev don't deserve a rematch.

 

I think Kovalev was great in his prime. There's nothing to suggest that he couldn't beat Alvarez. But if he doesn't have the heart to go through the long gym hours to become great again then he should hang them up. Otherwise he's just going to get hurt while losing to a bunch of bums.

 

he has decline because Hopkins would have stopped this version of Kovalev probably.
