I think it's a good win if Kov KOs BHop and an even better win if he decisions him, as going the distance should favor BHop + his skill set.

I can see BHop getting in Sergei's head in the leadup to the fight and diluting his effectiveness come fight night. If the fight doesn't end early, it + Bernard's trickery will likely frustrate Kovalev.

Yes definately. What suprises me though is if it so clear that this would be a good win then why do so many people discredit calzaghes win over him

Cant have it both ways. Calzaghes win is an ATG win

I think it would be a very good win if Kovalev pulls it off, but I don't think he will get much credit for it. "Fathertime caught up with Hopkins" it will be..

If I think about it, hardly anybody gets any credit:D There is only Mayweather and Pac, everybody else is ****, everybody who was ever floored has a glass jaw and so on..

If Hopkins pulls it off and beats Kovalev, it will be "Just another Pavlik" and he won't be getting much credit either... The ridiculing which will follow for Kovelev will be out of this world though:D

Generally speaking, I think today it is more about the drama than about the fights or fighters, a bit WWE style

What? Have you seen what his body looks like? But Adonis is somehow the opposite...right.

Obviously. Regardless of age, Hopkins is a unified beltholder who beat two reiging titleholders to win his titles. Nobody can deny that the guy is a bonafide top 5 lightheavyweight still.

AT some point in time Hopkins HAS to get old.

Ive been waiting for about 10 years for that to happen though

He hasn't faced a light heavy as good as kovalev since calzaghe and has never faced a guy who hits nearly as hard

And the calzaghe fight was 6 and a half years ago

I think this is the day things could go tits up for Hopkins and I hope to god the referee is fair

hopkins has been old since before the trinidad fight, that's not a legitimate excuse for losing to kovalev. if kovalev beats hopkins it is about as good a win as it gets, beating a hall of fame atg fighter who is clearly not even close to being shot is a great win.

Yeah, but you can't say it holds the same spunk as beating that ATG when he was operating in his prime. There are certain concessions to age that have to be made. The dude is 50.

It didnt take both to lose before Calzaghe fought them, As shown, Hopkins backed out. That was before Hopkins lost.
You must be thick or in denial, because you can see the details for yourself and still waffle on about something that has been shown otherwise to you. Dont post if you cant view situations from both sides
