If Kovalev is that good, why couldn't he KO Grandad B.Hop?

Because when you have a guy with Hopkins' savvy, who, let's face it, is in their simply not to get KOd, it's a difficult proposition. It's like trying to solve a puzzle while someone keeps resetting the pieces. Hopkins is a crafty old ******.

Don't remember anyone stopping Hopkins, he also completely dominated him, yeah he's definitely an old timer but nobody has beaten him more or less 12-0 and completely battered him.

 

Kovalev was showing respect to Hopkins and was ready to let him finish until Hops taunted him. Hopkins probably knew it, which is why he waited until that late in the fight to pull that move
