If the fight doesn't happen, who should Kovalev go after next in November? He needs to get back in the ring. You can basically count out Ward & Stevenson but who will else should be next for Kovalev?
Kovalev Beterbiev is by far the biggest fight in the division Far bigger than Kovalev Coward But that one will have to wait
Kovalev's next biggest option is Beterbiev. But in the meantime, he could fight solid tune-ups like Shabransky, Braehmer, Smith jr with the ultimate target being Beterbiev.
Already tried to make vs Stevenson,Beterbiev and Ward and didnt work. So Gvozdyk and Shabransky or some other undefeated.
Its odd but it does seem that unless I am missing announcements that lately I dont think Wards fights have been confirmed until late on. Smith I think was around 2 months Barrera I think was a bit less Brand I think was also less than 2 months They to my knowledge all seem very short notice I have thought this with Wilder also but may have missed announcements Maybe the Kovalev fight wont be confirmed until around 6/7 weeks before the fight for some reason?
