If Lacy & Kessler continue doing nothing, how will Joe be remembered in 30 years?

If Kessler goes on to totally clean out the SM, and LH divisions in style I think the win over him would be given greater credence for Joe. Therefore...

I agree to a point here. I hate Hamed, but many people think he was great. He lost against MAB and quit like a punk. Does that make him a never was? In his case I would say yes, but most people would disagree I bet.

How can he be a never was, when he did alot of great stuff while boxing. People with extremely big egos can't recouperate from such defeats - simple as that, but it never make them a never was, because that is gibberish. A never was, is someone who never amounted to anything. He did.

nah...David was a solid fighter...he was far from a hype job...Tito's hand wraps and his droopy eye lids did him in...way better than Jeff Lacey.

There is noone at 160-175 who 'convincingly' beats Kessler all things being equal.

Sure, if Calzaghe and Kessler fight again in front of 60.000 fans in Wales then Joe is the favorite, but if the fight is in Copenhagen, Denmark in front of 60.000 wild Danes with Danish people all around, then I would put my money on Kessler.

And noone else has better chances than Joe.

    So, noone.

On the other hand some people have a fair chance of winning:

    First and foremost these guys:
    Pavlik
    Joe
    Dawson
    Abraham
    Taylor
    Johnson

The odds of winning will depend a lot on where it happens. I am convinced that beating Kessler at home is very very difficult, but I am on the other hand not convinced that Kessler travels all that well. We saw against Joe that he has all the tools, but got mentally unstuck. Many American fighters can afford that luxuary, and it would not be a problem (when was the last time RJJ or Mayweather defended their titles against a good fighter in Europe? .. exactly), but since Kessler is from a small country this will be a problem because most of the big fights are likely to happen on foreign soil (indeed continent).

You do realize we were talking about Lacy, don't you? His best win is Scotty Pemberton! Or, and Old Robin Reid. Take your pick.

It is indeed a legitimate question - thank you.

TFFP, you allege 50% of my activity is about Calzaghe. An easy way to test this - search the threads started by me. The 1st page contains 25. Of that 25, TWO feature the name Calzaghe.

One is this one, which you yourself stated was a valid question.

The other is a thread called "If JMM beats Casamayor while Calzaghe beats up a faded legend, should JMM jump to p4p#2?" - if you check the poll score you will find this thread has also been deemed valid by the forum, and it is as much about Marquez as it is about Calzaghe.

TFFP when will you learn your lesson? You continually accuse me of hate and bias, and without fail the hard facts always prove you wrong. :hi:

Calzaghe doesn't have a claim you tit, it's Marquez who has a legitimate claim. And this thread couldn't have anything less to do with pound-for-pound rankings or Mayweather or Pacquiao, as you would know if you weren't a ******. Log out journeyman.

Youve proven nothing other than youre a ******ed hater.

Fact - the majority of your posts are aimed to try to discredit one of the best boxers in the world. I dont care how many threads you start about him, it is irrelevant. The majority of the other threads find their way round to Calzaghe hating thanks to your obsession with the guy. You clearly only leave this site to sleep, and only roll out of bed to log back on to obsess about Calzaghe. Does he secretly turn you on or something? Do you nurse a semi every time you think about him?

Kessler is not a great boxer IMO, but his size and strength mean he is excellent at 168. When he met someone as strong and resilient as himself but with better skills in Joe C, he lost.

Kessler would beat Bute and anyone else at 168. I think Taylor is a more skilled fighter and would give Kessler a difficult fight, but Kessler would be too strong for him in the end, the way he is for most.

I think Pavlik and Abraham would give Kessler a great fight. I can't pick a winner there, real 50/50s. At a push, I'd say Pavlik beats Kessler and Kessler beats Abraham, but I can't say either way with confidence.

However, at light-heavyweight where Kessler's size and strength would not be such an advantage, I think he would struggle. I would pick Calzaghe (obviously), Dawson, Tarver and Johnson to beat him there. Many will scoff at my choice of Johnson, but if you compare the Johnson of the Dawson fight with the Kessler of Kessler's last 2 fights, I really think Glen could do it. He is strong as a bull and would just keep coming at Kessler.

Your petty insults and abuse are exactly the response I expected to being definitively proven wrong by fact. Pathetic.

FACT - the majority of my posts aren't about him.

FACT - he seems to be the subject of most threads on this forum and I am on this forum quite often, therefore it is normal for me to comment on these threads.

I work freelance at a computer, so I can be on here as much or as little as I wish. I enjoy it, therefore I am on a lot. I will never be ashamed of that, it's a lot of fun.

If you read the thread 'PACFAN84: The Calzaghe Hater' which was not made by me, then you will realize what a silly child you are being.

Do you nurse a semi every time you think about him? - What an infantile little troll you are. You are the type of poster I try to avoid. Goodbye :hi:

Classic. infantile insults??? From the idiot who called me a ****wit. Genius.

And no, youve proven nothing. Saying youve proven something over and over might convince you that you have, but the facts are there for everyone else to see.

As usual, I was only retaliating, I did not attack you, I did not start this. That is clear for all to see.

That 2 of my last 25 thread-titles have featured the name 'Calzaghe' (this one which a known Calzaghe fanatic accepted IS a valid question to ask, the other being a thread about JM Marquez as much as it is about Calzaghe) is a stone-cold fact, which does disprove your accusations whether you like it or not. Stop replying troll, there is no need for us to converse as you view objective criticism as hate, therefore we have no common ground. Back to the fanboy playground for you and the other 'huggers' and 'haters'.
