Being a hard hitter doesn't mean a fighter also has a hard chin? Satterfield was notoriously fragile. The ultimate give or take fighter in that he could bomb you out with a single blow or be bombed out with a single blow. LaMotta must've just gradually broken him down after taking his early onslaught in full stride as Satterfield wore himself out. LaMotta was pretty much unbreakable.

Is there any footage of that fight, by the way?

Not footage that I've ever been able to find. However, I have a newspaper clipping of the fight, and it says that LaMotta pretty much outspeeded and outclassed Satterfield all the way, and the finishing punch knocked Bob out cold. The report says that Satterfield caught Jake coming in at one point with one of his big bombs, but Jake shook it off quickly and went right back to work.

And getting back to the topic, Satterfield's chin and conditioning were both suspect - not a good combination when going up against a relentless iron-chinned pressure fighter.
