If Larry Holmes had a brother who was better than himself, and asked his brother to win back his title he lost to spinks, then how long could Larry have gone on as champion?

Probably not long. Weaver, spoon and Tyson were on the radar. BUT -

if his opponents were theoretically weaklings like -

    weakling Pianeta
    awful Wach
    janitor Jennings
    near 40 year old Thompson
    skilless Pulev

Could he have lasted as champ till he was 40? or even beyond.

the obvious answer is that Larry wouldtn face serial weaklings, of course. But what if he had a major life change which affected his appraisal and character adversely, so that he chose weaklings exclusively

The biggest problem was Tyson was up and coming and nobody around at the time was going to deal with him. There was a new sheriff in town & the old guys were going to have to try and deal with a pedigreed up and comer.
