I just saw Hatton Lazcano fight last night. If this is the Hatton that will appear on May 2, 2008, Pac will easily beat him, by a KO or retirement at 9-10th round. Pac can capitalize on his wild swings and counterpuch him as Hatton throws his predictable left straights. He appeared slow on this fight and appeared to tire out in the later rounds. He looked like the plodding Diaz although he was a little quicker. Pac will be on his way to pocketing his 5th division belt. Again, Pac will count on his speed to stop Hatton. I won't even bother to mention Hatton's fight w/ bum Paulie. The latter fought w/ only one hand. There's nothing much to showcase Hatton's ability to stop an elite fighter like Pac.
Why might that fight be the gauge? Hatton has fought since then. By the way, I am rooting for Pacquiao.
Well, I said "if Lazcano fight" is the gauge. Basically, that's how Hatton fight. He tries to impose his will against his opponent. For non-elite fighters, he can do that but not speedy fighters like Mayweather and Pacquiao. I can see him being counterpunched by Pac all night long. Hatton is not accurate w/ his punches and he has to defense at all which suits Pac's style of fighting.
In my opinion, Hatton will always lose at very elite level against fighters like PAC and Mayweather. His skils will not carry him that far.
I agree! But I believe Hatton will be more prepared when he fights PAC next year. Probably Hatton took the training easy when he fought Lazcano thus his peformance was not impressive at all. Anyway, IT's going to be a short night if HAtton could only show what he has shown in his LAZCANO fight!
How the heck would someone compare a fighter's previous fight to his upcoming fights? You see fighters gets better and better from experience and a good training. They won't show up like before if they train hard, they won't act like before if they didn't prepare hard. It's up to the fighter how he prepares for fight night. "If you train hard, the fight is easy..." - Manny Pacquiao
Kostya Tsyzu. One loss to Mayweather doesn't mean he'll lose i expect Pac to win but not by KO fighting a dead Oscar around the ring, Hatton will actually punch back and move out of range when needed. However i expect a PAC UD but by about 116 - 112
Being handled by a different trainer in Mayweather Sr. will surely prepare Hatton as a different one from that Lazcano fight. Expect a very different fight plan for both fighters as this will be a tacticians fight aswell. Mayweather's prime emphasis will be nullifying Pac's speed and footworks while Freddie's concern will be Hatton's clinching and bulldozing ways, though not necessarily how the fight may run. He whoever can stick to the gameplan has the 51% advantage...
I may eat my words but I think Pac will KO Hatton 4-6 rounds. Hatton gets hit often by the left straight. Collazo rocked him with the left straight as well as Lazcano and Mayweather. Pac's best shot is the left and throws it much quicker and more often than Collazo and Lazcano.
I wish people would make their minds up before the oscar fight everybody was lambasting hatton for even contemplating taking this fight now pac yes had a impressive victory against death warmed up oscar hatton is a stroll in the park. Come on where the consistency. Anyhow i hope pac spends sometime on the medicine ball because a lot of hurtful lefthooks to the body will becoming his way.
