About the same ...Didnt he get trained by the great steward ? .... Guys like blackburn, futch, steward know all there is too know about boxing and how to strategize....
I feel he would have been better if he had of listened because Louis was better than Lennox on a technical level, Lewis was much easier to hit with straight punches, he always talks a load of crap about boxing too, making me think his boxing IQ wasn`t that good apart from the few tricks Steward taught him, Blackburn would have investing more time and energy into training Lewis, Steward used to leave Lennox with an assistant so that he could go and train his other fighters at times so he could get paid by them also, he was greedy.
Probably worse. Steward and Lennox had excellent chemistry and Steward had the patience to deal with Lennox. Blackburn was a great trainer, but wasn't known for his patience. He even threatened to cut ties with Louis for not following his instructions and training regiment going into the first Schmeling fight, so I have a hard time seeing Lennox and Blackburn getting along.
Blackburn was a great exponent of the jab,so we might have seen Lewis utilise his with more venom,I feel he often pushed it. Blackburn was also a virtual alcoholic and a mean drunk, with one exception,[the 1stSchmeling fight,] Louis allowed himself to be dominated by Blackburn, and deferred to him . I doubt Lennox, who was much more confident and self assertive would ever develop the chemistry with Chappie that he did with Manny.
