I'm pretty certain there's no AJ v Usyk or Fury, Wilder title fights. Lennox wraps up the heavyweight division and the others are simply good contenders.
Lennox with his game face on all reign long? Wilder is a brutal victim every time he steps up. Fury gets beaten badly, humiliatingly even enough for him to retire. AJ can be dangerous but Lennox is just that much better... Usyk? I don't know he can run but he can't hide? Lennox holds it as long as time lets him, long as he feels like he wants to win for as long as his body lets him pretty much. Lennox fat and old proved more then every guy active today... Who has a better win then prime Vitali today at HW? Furys "master piece" over Wlad? AJ over Ruiz? ect with context that win puts him above our crop so far.
Lewis beats them all in my opinion. Wilder is a big stiff dosser. Fury could be annoying with his style (and might even have a decent chance of outpointing a flat version of Lewis like he did Wlad) but I still think Lennox wins. I dont think AJ has the chin to hang with Lewis and Usyk is short of the size I suspect.
Stand by what I wrote two and a half years ago. I think we really overestimate the separation between Lewis and today's top heavyweights. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/lennox-lewis-in-todays-heavyweight-division.622764/
Lennox had an insane jab and and insane straight right. He wins. He'd KO Joshua and Wilder, and outbox Fury, maybe even TKO.
It might sound strange, but LL's biggest threat would be Wilder. Wilder would have a great puncher's chance, though I think LL should stop him in 8. Fury and Joshua get stopped. Fury would be more difficult, within 12 rounds. Joshua would last 9 at the outside.
Wilders got a punchers chance. He hits harder than McCall and Rahman so we can't totally rule him out but the odds on him beating a prepared, fit Lewis, are extremely small imo. Quite the reverse I should think about with Wilder being knocked cold.
Yes, the Steward-era Lewis would be super cautious and rely a lot on the jab. If LL looped his right some (I always thought he was one of the great straight right guys) he would devastate Wilder. But I think his safety-first Stewardisms would allow Deontay to make it to round 9 or 10. TKO at least for Lennox.
And Wilder would know he was up against it early on. He'd be getting hit and hurt, whilst he's the one used to doing that!
Both Fury and Joshua would be dangerous fights. I think Lewis is better than both but I wouldn't rule out an evenutal upset. A better question is how would Wlad do if he was 10 years younger. His entire reign was characterized by mediocre opponents and a couple of good fighters in between and now suddenly there's all this young blood around. Wilder, Fury, Joshua and even dudes like Ortiz, Parker and Whyte are way better than 90% of Wlads title defenses. Don't think he would have been so dominant if he came around a little later.
Honestly, for as long as he can stay active, Fury is gonna be a handful for Wlad or Lennox. There's just no denying how difficult this guy is when he's actually motivated and in the ring. I think Fury loses the long game though, he'd eventually get forced into a fight where he'd fat and on drugs, and get plastered. Beyond that, I don't see anyone that could be favored over Lewis or Wlad, at the very least they might get chin checked by someone with no longevity. Fury at his best, is the only one that concerns me. Wilder....Lewis would Ruddock him. I think Wlad Ray Austin's him. Joshua. A past it Wlad damn near turned the trick. Of course a prime Wlad and Lewis beat him up, too quick.
