Trainer’s play a limited role in picking their fighter’s opponents. They are basically advisors. Stewart would have wanted an ambitious programme for Lewis, because Lewis was his meal ticket. Lewis obviously wanted to get on with his life.

Nope....fighters who win get paid more, wether short or long term....those who are champions stay paid better longer....those who know the boxing game know the manager and trainer almost always will take the best possible match ups that suit their fighter...its their JOB as well !

So if Stewart wanted Lewis to win, and he was going to match him against both the Klitschko’s, then presumably he was pretty confident that he would beat them?

You know, what a comedian named Alexei Sayle said is true.

" Some people are so fukking stupid, they don't even realise they are stupid."

And I think he had you in mind when he said it.

The Tyson rematch didn't materialise you dummy, hence Lewis losing interest in the fight game.:roll:

What part of punching the shyte out of Tyson for half a dozen rounds, for a minimum 30 million is too difficult for you to comprehend?

Tell you what we will do Auntie Bug. We'll imagine for a moment you have actually got a brain, next we will really stretch the realms of probability and imagine you have got a business brain. So what are you going to do in Lewis's shoes?

    1. Take an absolutely NO risk fight battering Tyson like a punch bag until you get bored and decide to knock him out again, for say 30 mil?

    or

    2. Fight a guy from Ukraine that NO ONE in the Western world gives a flying fuk about, in which you will have to work hard to win, and you could possibly even lose, for the same ( if you are lucky ) money, or perhaps even less?

Remember, you need to have some semblance of a brain to work this out.

This supposed quote from Steward makes no sense considering Lewis was actually scheduled to fight Kirk Johnson!!!!
Makes the quote's legitimacy seem suspect to me.

As for Tyson being unworthy of a rematch? At least he lasted 8 rounds with Lennox :D:D

Steward didn't match him with Vitali,he avoided him for over a year . If he had an option I highly doubt he takes that fight. Steward wanted Lewis to do the rematch but that's because it was Lewis's last fight had he gone thru with it ,a huge pay day win or lose.

In fairness I think Steward said this in 2002, after the Tyson win, before Johnson was even being considered.

That quote was before Lewis changed his mind,he was going to be stripped of his title if he didn't fight Vitali,he chose to retire knowing the easier Tyson was not viable after that came around so he RAN...Yet you dolts try and make up B.s like Lewis was going to retire after he fought Vitali...NOPE...this was not true he sought for a Tyson rematch....dummy!

The fact that Tyson always had a legendary granite chin was never in doubt and is what made him last so long against a murderous puncher like lenni even if Tyson was at his absolute worst her but otherwise it was a humiliating showing and he had no business being in the ring at this point in time.

True enough unfortunately there's no shortage of boxers who fight long after they should strictly for money.

Try reading this you semi literate moron. Your take on the facts are as worthless, and as irrelevant as you. The difference is the rest of us are not LYING the way you do.

Try to get your moronic head to digest this, particularly the date MAY 2003.

The rematch that Tyson begged for in the ring immediately after the fight in June 2002 was reneged on by King ( as far as Lewis was concerned ) hence the aforementioned lawsuit.

The quote from Steward was made in 2002, which is why it says.

After rematching Tyson Lewis would fight the worthless Kleechko brothers.

Are you even aware by Dec 2002 the useless brothers had had a total of 73 fights combined, with only 7 outside of Europe. They couldn't draw flies to sh it at that time in the US, compared to a Tyson rematch.

Remember the operative word from Steward " after " the Tyson rematch, the useless chuckle brothers. You are assuming that Manny Steward was as r.e.t.a.r.d.e.d. as you, which only shows your arrogance, along with your stupidity.

If your lies were in any way representative of fact Steward would have said the word " rematch " in relation to Vitali now wouldn't he? Because unlike you he could both write and speak English correctly.

Your scabby opinion and take on the matter is worth less than used toilet paper tbh.

So Lewis trying for a Tyson rematch After he defeated Klitchko is an opinion now?

So the actual quotes of Stewart saying Lewis is going to fight 3 more times before he even fought Tyson is a figment of my imagination?

    Absolutely.

Nice to see a great fighter get out of the game with his health and money intact for a change.

I wish more fighters got out at the right time like Lewis. Too many linger on and take beatings they shouldn't have to.

It's a shame that those that do retire at the right time get criticised for not beating the next guy or rematching their rivals. It happened with Lewis, it happened with Calzaghe with people saying he should fight Dawson, it happened with Froch with people saying he he should fight GGG and rematch Ward, it happened with Collins with people saying he ducked Calzaghe.

It's not an easy decision for any fighter to retire for good, there is always the temptation to take one more last fight, to get that last payday.

worst ever lewis easily destroyed prime vitali before half time.

leaving a full twenty minutes for him to have a nice ganga, whilst vits was hospitalised for major surgery.
