    People forget that Lewis was not the most rounded fighter when he started out. He also blew hot and cold and had some stinkers against mediocre opponents. (Cue the infamous Lewis vs Marciano thread, where I maintained that a good version of Marciano could have beaten the Lewis that fought Levi Billups.)

    COULD he have done it?

    Sure, a guy like Lewis has a punching chance vs virtually anybody.

    But if I had to bet on it, I think Tyson would have stopped him.

    I don't know enough about Lewis' early life to know why he came to Canada at age 12. Did his parents move there for work or something? Did the people guiding him feel he'd do better with Canada's amateur boxing program? I'm not necessarily asking you, Mark, but I am curious.

    No, he`s known as being a ladies man here in Britain, he even tried it on with a woman who used to work on a volunteer site with me, he was sitting beside her at an AA meeting touching her arm and telling her how beautiful she was, I once met a elderly woman at another volunteer site that Oliver Reed tried to get in the sack when she was younger, lol!

    I read his biography years ago and it was his mother`s idea to move to Canada from Britain, she was from Jamaica and they were living in a rough part of London, Lewis used to get into a lot of fights at school, so maybe she wanted to move elsewhere to stop the rot, a lot of people immigrate to different countries for various reasons, so since he was living in Canada from the age of 12 he started his boxing in Canada which is why he got into the Canadian olympic team.
