If Loma loses to Teo will it affect his legacy? If so by how much?

He tried to overpay Salido and it wasn’t enough. Salido might be broke enough to have to steal beer but he’s not dumb enough to take way more money than he’s worth to take the beating he would have gotten. Salido is a coward who had to miss weight, and throw low blows all night to beat a guy in his second pro fight. It was a split decision and Salido was almost out at the end.

Betchelt always chirps but he mysteriously had fights with bums ever time line was available. At this stage of his career, Loma clowns him. I hope it happens because it will shut people up, but it will not be a competitive fight.

It'll hurt a bit. But how big the impact depends on : 1) how he loses ; and 2) how he pick himself up again after the defeat.

For the first factor, we need to see his previous record of losses. Loma only had been defeated twice in his entire long boxing career. One in amateur and one in pro. There are one similarity in both of his losses. Loma actually gave his best shot and put a good fight. And when he declared lost, he did not make excuses and learned his lessons. This is why I'm convinced that Loma is not going to lose to Lopez for reasons like 'lack of preparation'. Because he always gives his best.

As for the second factor, Loma is known to have pretty good record after defeat. In amateur, he lost in 2007 and he has been undefeated since then to 2013. In pro, he lost to Salido in 2014 and he has been undefeated in the next six years, even against bigger opponents in 135. He is a special boxer, one in generation. People will follow him even if he loses. Just like Duran, Tyson, Pacquiao. When they lost, people won't easily forget about him.

IMHO, the biggest challenge in Lopez fight is not Lopez's strength and powerful blows, but how Loma keeps his head cool and follow his father's game plan. I won't be surprised if Lopez is trying to taunt and insult him greatly in weigh-in and press conference. If Loma can keep his mind focused and doesn't care about this clown's provocation, Loma will win.

It would have a negative impact, how much would be seen in time dependent on how his career finishes and probably the manner of the loss.
