if this was fought in the amateurs i would say "Yes", but rigo is no pro fighter. He might have skills but we'll never see them.

If i never see Lara or Rigo again i'd be ecstatic.

Rigo held the center of the ring against Donaire and gave him a boxing lesson. Problem is he never fought that way again and always look as putrid as Lara.

It would probably be the most technical fight at the highest possible level.

Rigo isn't nearly as technical as Loma. On we judge from 1 to 10 of being a complete fighter Rigo is 5 out of 10, while Loma is 9 or even 10 out of 10.

People think that every overly defensive fighter is "technical". Rigo has a much more limited scope of technical boxing than Loma.

They're both southpaws and if you just look at the way Loma uses the left hand he has like 10 times more variety. Rigo fights behind his jab and spams the power left hand from that downward angle when he gets the openings, there is simply not much variety in his left hand. Loma uses the left hand either as a power hand (even though he's right handed) or as a weak hand in the sense of using it as some sort of "rear hand jab" or range finder as well as using it as part of his combos in a perfect flow. He can use it as a straight hand or as a hook (he especially likes to use the left hook - the rear hand hook in itself is a very rare punch, most people just use overhands or straights/crosses - from an awkward angle after he does that trademark pivoting to the right) or uppercut.

Rigo essentially has a straight left, a jab and evasive footwork and his entire style revolves around that. He relies on his speed and athleticism much more which in itself is the opposite of being technical.

Loma has a wide variety of punches with both hands (especially considering he is a two handed southpaw, a natural righty but comfortable with southpaw left hand), he can do both picking his shots or throwing combos, he can fight hands down, lead hand down or high guard, can defend leaning back or leaning forward, comfortable at all three ranges, switches between offense and defense, can finish fights our outpoint and goes to the body much more. He also has more tricks and that trademark pivoting "jump" to create a new angle which is a technical masterpiece and a rarity in boxing.

Loma is the most complete fighter I've ever seen. That doesn't necessarily mean he that much better than Rigo, Rigo does what he is used to to VERY well and sometimes it's better to be a complete master at certain things than good at everything, but Loma just has so much more technical variety.

Lara is another limited defensive fighter like Rigo. They're both technical and do certain things extremely well but don't have the variety of Mayweather and Lomachenko. I don't understand why people equate being technical with being extremely defensive. Yes, you have to be technical to be defensive fighter of Lara and Rigo style but if you don't have the ability to switch to offense (which is a huge part of boxing after all) then you're simply not a complete technical fighter. You can be a technical fighter and be offensive and aggressive and you can be a defensive fighter with limited technique.

Mayweather vs Lomachenko would be the most technical fight of this era (in a wide sense) if they were a bit closer in age and weight of course.

Lara is a runner. Very different than what Loma does.

Besides, Lara vs Mayweather would be horrendous to watch. Two safety first, low output fighters posing infront of each other.. No thank you.
