Linares is a very good fighter, but let's not make him out to be something he's not. He barely got past Campbell who adjusted to Linares in the second half of the fight, and was getting outboxed by Mitchell. He's not this elite monster that makes you go down as an ATG.

At 406-2 and two Olympic gold medals, in my book, Loma is already ATG. You never know what the future holds and stranger things have happened but Loma does not take much damage, he has his father in his corner (so he is well looked after) and he is a smart guy. (Almost) regardless of what happens to Loma in the future, he has proven himself to be one of the true exceptions in the sport ALREADY.

If he clowns Linares and retires, he's already in the HOF on resume & accomplishments.

    H2H, I think he's already ATG.

But for the resume to reach ATG levels this quickly, I think unification vs Mikey (who I think will take Easter apart) is crucial.

The only thing that beats Loma is size. He may simply be overpowered if he goes up too much. Let's not forget he is only 5'7" with a 65 1/2" reach. Mikey Garcia, by comparison, is 5'6" and has a 68" reach. It's conceivable Loma is man-handled if/when he moves up.

I don't think you can make the case for "the greatest" of all time with his current resume. But you can put him in the ATG category. For me to qualify as "the greatest" you have to be looking at someone like Sugar Ray Robinson AND, of course, "the greatest" is entirely subjective.

Agreed. He can't do this. He doesn't have the frame.

    Resume-wise ... no.

But going by the eye test, I'm blown away.

People think size is going to matter in this fight but it won't. Linares is a poor defensive fighter. All he knows how to do is cover up. Loma is going to feast on that.

    Spence would /will Merk everyone.
Loma isn't nearly as small as so many try claiming. He's the same exact size as fmj. Fmj is truly 5'7" same as Loma and they both are very equal on fight night weights.
Where fmj has the massive game changing advantages are the reach.

I actually had Loma in my top 10 ATG list before his pro debut
