Not being busy enough. I assume he was pacing himself. So inexperience with pro boxing probably was the cause of this. but had he thrown more punches he wins. Period. I admire him for taking a tuff fite first. I also though he lost the decision fair and square. And while there were low blows, their effect is greatly exaggerated.

Bottom line, he wins if they fight again. he just didn't let his hands go until late.

Good post, but the low blows were being scored by the judges b/c their field of vision was obstructed by Lomas tying up.

So while the the TRUTH is clear that Loma lost due to inactivity early in the fight, but his punches that were landing would have outweighed Salidos had the ref been warning or deducting appropriately for the low blows.

Also, Lomas inexperience when it came to the fouling shined thru clearer than anything else we can take away from that fight.

It is blatantly obvious that if/when Loma fights another dirty type fight, like an Abner Mares, that he's gonna have to maintain distance or he'll lose again.

I hope he's learned from the Salido fight.......but we can't know for sure since he's fought a VERY clean fighter in Russel, and essentially a world level journeyman boxer/puncher in Chonlatarn since.

Let's see how he handles a Billy Dib or an Evengy Gradovich next. Someone with the kind of effective agression of Salido, but more able to mix it up from the outside that Salido lacked due to age and slowing down some.:think

Lomachenko will be a HOF-worthy fighter within 15 fights at most.

If he was English/American he'd make more money in his lifetime than any boxer to have ever lived. He'd make Mayweather look like he lived on the bread line.

Lomachenko lost fair and square against Salido who used everything he could, written or not wirtten in the book, to win the fight, not respecting the weight being one of the things.

Still Lomachenko is special, his footwork looking a lot like Willie Pep's. Looking foreward to see him again. GRJ might also win a title if he steps up again, upgrading Lomachenko's title.

LOL at clowns saying that Salido won the fight fair and square:lol::lol::lol:

Salido should have been deducted lots of points, no way he wins the fight with non-corrupt competent judge.

I think Salido landed something like 140 punches to Loma's 160 but what percentage of them were low blows?

Disgraceful fight! Lomachenko landed more deadlier and precise shots...Salido's low blows should have never been counted as real shots, not even talking about point-deductions...

Compare it to Mayweather-Castillo I when Castillo outworked Floyd with legit shots, but ********** still won the fight:rofl

The thing is it could be good experience for Loma to lose so early...He also lost his only fight(also quite controversional) in amateurs in 2007, but then became 2-x Olympics champion with astonishing record 396-1. Mayweather's amateur record 84–6:lol:

Some of those low blows were meters below the belt. Salido was swinging at Loma's knees yet not only are people counting them as scoring shots but that corrupt POS Cole miraculously failed to spot them.

It was a stick up job. Loma got shafted there.

True! A stupid move to face some like Salido in his second fight.Even an outstandingly great amateur like Lomachenko needs some time to adjust to the pro game.
As we can see he gets no credit by fighting Salido in his second pro fight by some people but I guess the same people would call him a great fighter if he had knocked out 15 no-hopers in 15 fights and then won the world title.

I know I've done a thread basically saying he's the real deal, but it was just way too soon to put him in the ring with a very dirty (albeit one of my favorite fighters) old pro like Salido.

    was a close fight

horrific referee who let siri get away with several illegal hip shots and low blows

inept loma corner failed to complain about the low blows or instruct their fighter to retaliate with low blows

loma should have used his quickness in the exchanges in the pocket

he was too concerned with the body shots salido was throwing

that being said, if it was a 15 round fight he would have gotten siri out of there which is remarkable given that it was salido who did the majority of the body work

    loma wins the rematch
