It will affect his legacy in the eyes of haters who will say "See he's overrated". But in reality, it won't hurt him or the chances of him still being a HoF fighter with a lot of achievements - especially if he bounces back and/or avenges the loss. However, it could hurt his standing as a potential ATG - if Lopez does nothing afterwards & loses consecutively to nobodies(e.g. Tyson/Douglas).

I've always held the opinion that Pedraza was Loma’s most difficult fight. An overwhelming majority of ESBers seem to mention the Linares fight when speaking of Loma’s ”challenging” spots. Linares found success in isolated moments while Pedraza seemed to gain momentum while remaining active and on par with some excellent counters and boxing. I get that Linares dropped Loma, however, we all know that isn't the purest indicator of a strenuously fought battle.

I still find the late barrage stoppage by Loma as oddly serendipitous. If you've watched Pedraza’s career you'll notice that his actions during the final moments of the Loma fight were a complete aberration if compared to all his other championship level fights. Others will argue Loma just flipped the switch on, because he's that Godly, and decided it was time to stop the fight.

    Who knows ”shoulder shrug”

The money line is out of control, but the fight to not go the distance is +130, any chance these two don’t last 12?

Interesting, I always thought Salido was his toughest fight...

It wouldn't have any effect on his accomplishments, it would be a setback on what is expected of him though.

There are already two threads here and several more in other boxing forum that ask the same question "If Loma lose, does it hurt his legacy ?"

Actually I've posted my answer in the other thread, but I just want to say this...

If Loma is not a great boxer, no one would care about him and this kind of thread would not be exist. This is a boxer who bet it all : his belts, reputation, P4P status by fighting a bigger, stronger and younger guy to achieve greater height. If he fails, my only hope is he'll return soon and rebuild his legacy again. Because all of his fans, including myself, truly love his way of boxing.

Please answer this. When Pacquiao lost against Jeff Horn, does it hurt his entire legacy ?

Bit of a stretch between a dozen fights and 50. But we definitely agree about them both being awesome to watch.

Loma lost to a jr welterweight who hit him in the balls all night. Gritted his teeth and turned the tide by the final bell. He lost but it is the toughest, most clearly unfair and bull**** 3rd fight a human being has ever dealt with. Kudos to Loma for even going forward after Salido missing weight.

That's like a video game fight when a boss character comes in that you're clearly under-leveled for. He wasn't supposed to win and he still almost did.

l think Loma will find a way to win. Not complete sure though, and that's what makes the fight compelling. As far as his legacy goes, it depends on if he loses badly. Even more than that, it depends on what he does after.

2nd fight. Haters ignore the facts. I watched that fight and wasn’t even a Loma fan yet. He got jobbed.

Comparing Loma with Pacquiao legacy is laughable, and I'm no Pacquiao fan.

I mentioned this fight in my analysis. I think it's because Pedraza was not being a robot that stood in front doing the same thing. He was giving Loma different looks and less predictable. Unlike Linares who is very upright doesn't give you the head movement or body movement. Linares is overrated. I have always said this.

Look, Loma other kryptonite is a great Mexican Champion that will go at him and is not going to just let him settle and do his bup bop pitty pat pat then angle. He went at him and Loma was uncomfortable. Salido is a glass jawed good fighter and he lasted 12 rounds.Notice he hasn't fought another Mexican champ since choosing instead them soft English lads.

I feel Teo needs to go at him with body shots and head shots mix it up.Keep giving him that sneaky shots and filly shell defense. Change levels. I think he might land a big shot somwhere.

I think this is a dangerous fight for Loma.
