Can we all agree that he would have won all of them and would be praised as a beast, specially after icing PEDerson again? oh yeah, and he wouldn't have needed gift decissions in some cases to win like a certain someone See, I think both Danny Gift and Lucas left something in that ring when they fought. that match was brutal and Danny lucked out there, but the point is both fighters have looked pretty deteriorated from that point onwards the difference is, Lucas has fought very dangerous opponents while Danny has been taking soft opposition cherrypicked by Al Haymon's protection services Roberto Ortiz might have been a soft touch but Molina and Provo were pretty dangerous punchers, specially against someone like Lucas who isn't very keen at defense. Postol was also a styllistically difficult opponent with underrated power (whom Danny ducked with ¨leave me alone money¨ for a reason) Garcia on the other hand, has fought nothing but featherfisted nobodies, thus allowing him to keep his fake 0 (he got schooled by Herrera and Peterson deserved a draw at least) What im trying to say is, while both Lucas and Danny might be shot or semi shot at this point, Garcia's management has been clever and by matching him against soft opposition, they can create the illusion that Garcia is still a top fighter Lucas on the other hand, like the true man he is, has been taking all comers and this is the result Garcia would get trashed by Postol and will lose (again) the moment he steps up. mark my words
He might have had some trouble with Herrera, but we all know he never gets the nod if it's even remotely close. So he probably would have gone 4-0, 3KO's with that lineup.
Yup, meanwhile, if Garcia had gone against Lucas opposition, he would have gotten starched against Provo and badly outboxed by Postol
Herrera would have given him real trouble and Peterson would have been much more competitive than the first go-around. Salka and Malignaggi(who is washed up) would have been completely annihilated.
I don't think Garcia vs. Matthysse was a brutal fight, it was a technical fight and I think Matthysse's eye injury is probably what helped Garcia win. Garcia is looked after a lot better than Matthysse so he is getting better fights and decisions but I'd say both are on a similar level to what they were when they fought. I also think Matthysse would have KO'd all of those opponents Garcia has faced in his last 4, styles make fights and I think over all Matthysse is slightly better than Garcia although head to head it will always be a close fight. I still think Matthysse did very well against Provodnikov.
Realistically though he still does not have a better resume than Matthysse. I personally think Matthysse would beat Amir Khan and an over the hill Morales by stoppage as well. The reality is though he beat Peterson, who we all know should have really got the nod against Garcia, and he beat other good names like Judah and Alexander where he didn't get the decision. Over all I'd say their resumes are roughly equal.
Herrera may cause Matthysse problems but I personally think Matthysse would just smash him. I think Matthysse would be able to get inside and just let his bombs go and would stop him early.
