It really wouldn't be a good win no matter how people try to spin it. If Floyd was a little younger perhaps it would be a good win but no way is it a good win if Marcos wins now. Floyd has noticeably lost a major step or two Floyd is 7 years past his prime Floyd is now 37 years of age Marcos is in his prime @ 30 years of age This fight is very similiar to Sweet Pea Whitaker/Oscar. Whitaker was also #1 p4p, up there with age. There is really nothing that good about this fight and I'm a major Money fan. He doesn't get much credit for winning because Marcos has lost to a variety of fighters already and got outboxed many times.
Agree and disagree. If Maidana wins, he beat Floyd Mayweather. No matter the age. He's still the best fighter in the world, by far. Still # 1 P4P. Still holds 5 belts stretching across 2 weight divisions. But I agree he has lost a step. but him having lost 2 steps, is still 5 steps above any fighter in the sport. So thats not saying much.
Are you that afraid that a guy like Maidana will win that you must start discrediting it before the fight even happen? You are so deep on Floyd's shaft that you discredit a hypothetical, unlikely win....
So answer the question Was Oscar's win over Whitaker a good one? Whitaker was #1 p4p, even younger than Floyd and lost to Oscar.
That's what most everyone says, no? "Floyd fought an over the hill Oscar, Oscar who has been involved in many wars"
I didn't ask you what most people say, I am asking you what you say, does Mayweather's only win over a potential ATG count for anything since Oscar was old?
It was an ok win, nothing that spectacular. Now answer my question instead of answering my question with another question Stop dodging it. Was ODLH's win over Whitaker a good one? It has many similarities with this one.
Miadana isn't winning. If he did happen to catch lightning in a bottle he would have done so against the best fighter in the world. Even if excuses were made, no way Floyd isn't still a top p4p fighter regardless.
Ok, so what does that say about Floyd if his biggest win is just ok? Don't get me wrong, he has fought a whole lot of champions and contenders, but his most important win was on a past prime Oscar.. I can see why you love him, fighting the likes of Robert Guerrero, Victor Ortiz, and now Marcos "Mediocre" Maidana.
And how exactly is this his "biggest" win? Explain. It's his biggest win in terms of PPV buys, but nothing else. It's the most important because ODLH was a boxing superstar and this was pretty much the torch passing fight.
